Disappointing stay, hotel needs significant investment
Unfortunately, our experience at Premier Inn Kidderminster was disappointing, with several issues that let the stay down.
When we tried to eat in the restaurant at around 5:15 pm, we were turned away because the restaurant was fully booked until 7 pm. We were told that two members of the reception team were also covering the cooking. This left us unable to eat at the hotel at a reasonable time and raised questions about how the restaurant operation is being managed.
The hotel itself feels tired and run-down and would benefit from significant investment and modernisation. It feels as though it needs the latest Premier Inn refurbishment and interior design update to bring it up to the standard you would expect from the brand.
The lifts were another issue. They felt outdated and slow, and one was out of use due to maintenance, which added to the overall impression that the hotel needs attention.
However, the biggest concern came at breakfast. We found more than one hair in our child’s meal, which was extremely unpleasant and raised genuine concerns about food hygiene. We also noticed that the person serving food from behind the hatch was not wearing a hair covering. I appreciate that accidents can happen, but finding multiple hairs in a child’s meal is unacceptable and needs to be taken seriously.
To be fair, the staff we encountered were okay, and this review is not intended to be a personal criticism of them. My concerns are with the overall management, staffing arrangements, condition of the facilities and the standards of the food service.
Premier Inn is an established hotel brand, and I would expect better. This hotel needs investment, improved restaurant provision and greater attention to food hygiene. At present, the experience falls short of what I would expect from Premier Inn.
Stayed over night arrived around 7, we followed the advice of reception and paid the overnight parking , in the morning we extended and hour just to make sure we had enough time (£11 in total) , we received a parking fine for £60 , we thought it was a mistake as we have the receipts for parking. We e-mailed the parking company and they sent a generic response saying the fine is correct (no information or explanation) we phoned premier in (they apologised and offered to credit out breakfast) but said they cannot do anything but e-mail head office. Have e-mailed head office and parking firm (eurocarparks) no response from either.
UPDATE
After calling customer service and speaking to Amy who wasn't very helpful she gave us a new number to Eurocarparks that was the wrong number it was the number to a local council. We were put back in contact with the hotel , we spoke to hotel Manager who sympathised and explained that herself and all several staff members have had been fined by Eurocars (told us there was nothing to be done and wished us good luck) she gave us the original number we had been calling that tells you there is no way to speak to a human at EuroCarparks.
Over all a terrible experience.

The hotel is conveniently located in Kidderminster Close to shops and amenities. Public parking outside front door but it is expensive.
We stopped in Kidderminster Premier Inn and it was very nice. Staff were friendly (especially Tracey the chef who was always cheery in the morning at breakfast and couldn’t be more helpful).
Rooms were clean and the shower was better than usual compared to others.
The lift is a little slow but they’re working on the other one which will hopefully speed things up. Overall a very enjoyable stay!
Another good quality Premier Inn. A little quirky, with the reception & restaurant on the 4th floor & rooms on the two floors below. If you needed to use the lift, be patient. I ly one of the two working & it was very very slow!. Staff were friendly & helpful & breakfast in the restaurant good. You have to pay for parking. Be aware, if you are there overnight, using an app will make you pay for 24hours. Pay at the machine, cash or card you only pay for overnight at half the price.
