  Extremely hot room, fans provided but cannot get airflow through room. Mattress unusually for a premier in was hard. Food on our second night was a joke, no staff, could not tell us when we'd be served, ended up paying for a taxi to another restaurant, meal deal was refunded but was then charged for breakfast next day which I thought should have been complimentary considering the problems and extra cost the previous evening. Complained to head office but only got reply after leaving bad review, reply said basically hard luck, that's terrible customer service. Has put me off premier inn.

  Picture, if you will, the surface of the planet Mercury. It’s the closest planet to the Sun, so it should come as no real surprise to learn that the mean temperature there is a not-inconsiderable 167 degrees Centigrade (or 333 Fahrenheit, if you still work in old money). Now imagine you’re one of a select few lucky people to have been able to purchase a plot of land on Mercury. I don’t know how or why, and frankly thinking too hard about is no good for the narrative of this extraordinarily convoluted review, so let’s not, eh? Anyway, let’s imagine that on your plot of land, you have decided to build a small bungalow. Nothing outrageous, but to keep up with modern building standards it’s got nice, thick insulation in the roof and walls. It’s cosy inside, in other words. Now imagine that you have installed inside this bungalow a sauna. You’ve then fired up the sauna, and brought into it a little camping stove - you know, one of the ones that takes seventeen goes to light. And on this stove, you are frying an egg. Well, that egg still won’t be as hot as a room in the Swindon Central Premier Inn during this summer of heatwaves we’ve had. Honestly. You might imagine it would be - indeed you probably think I’m exaggerating. But somehow the good people at Premier In have managed to combine building materials in such a way as to trap so much heat within Room 105 of their hotel as to make sleep all but impossible. You may toss, and indeed, you may turn too. But any combination of positions simply results in the pools of sweat forming in different niches of your body. I do understand that expecting air conditioning in a budget hotel is unfair. And the staff really tried valiantly to mitigate the problem by supplying two powerful fans; I’d really liked to give them credit for that. What’s more, Premier Inns are generally great establishments with comfy beds, a reliably decent breakfast and smiling people behind the reception desk. I usually swear by them. But in the vain hope that someone from Premier Inn ever sees this, could I please take this opportunity to suggest that perhaps, in view of the impending climate crisis, a review of the policy of installing “safety” windows that don’t open more than the width of a hair on the backside of a rhesus monkey might not go amiss. Thank you.

  Hotel inside industrial estate, no air conditioning it was stifling even though they gave you a fan ,didn't sleep for the 2 nights we were there,needs updating. The staff were very helpful even though there didn't seem enough of them

  Typical Premier Inn. Room was good, bed large firm and comfortable. Always find the quilt heavy so asked for a flat sheet instead. Food very average in the attached Brewers Fayre but convenient. Easy free on site parking and even the free WiFi worked. Now that's unusual!

  Staff lovely, super friendly. Roomd are super warm. 2 fans were provided in the room to help.
