This was the best premier inn room (206) we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed at many premier inn's over the years. The room was spacious and it was nicely decorated. The shower worked well with good water pressure and temperature stability.

Interesting location with it being in an old college with grand pillars and crepidoma entrance. Only 15 mins walk from the train station. Nice room with waterfall shower, although the light strips were poking out in a few places for some reason in the room.

I think to be fair this shouldn't get 4 stars, it should be less, but then my complaints about it are probably old fashioned. It's very clean, tidy, the rooms are quiet. I slept fine. Good location. Lighting in the room could be better. But it's got no soul despite being in a lovely building. I had to self check-in and out. The only words any staff said to me during my stay was "any allergies" at breakfast. It's like shopping and going through the self-service tills - it's isolating. This loses a star for the breakfast. Nothing wrong with the food. All good quality and plenty of it. But you have to put luke warm food onto cold plates and very quickly you're eating cold food. Not particularly enjoyable. They need a plate warmer and a better bain marie to keep the food hotter. All in all, I would recommend the hotel as long as you like self-service and minimal human contact. I don't recommend the cooked breakfast unless you love cold food.

This Premier Inn was previously a collage building. Stayed here a few times over the years for theatre visits. The most recent visit saw us in room 206 which was one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in at a Premier Inn, and we have stayed at many all over the UK. The room looked like it had been refurbished recently. Its a easy walk into the city centre from this Premier Inn with good pedestrian crossings to cross the busy roads in this area.

The car park in front of the inn is tiny and full upon our arrival. I have park in the multistorey car park next to the inn. Although the price is cheap, it is car park scam as you only have 10 minutes from your car entering the car park to find a parking spot, look for a payment machine, read the signage then realize you have only 10 minutes from entering the car park to pay for the stay in order to avoid £100 fine, continue to look for the payment machines, find a small signage that payment machines are only available on 1st and ground floors and rush down the stairs to pay for it.
