  We had a very comfortable stay at this Premier Inn and would happily stay here again. (In the Premier room) The room was clean, well maintained and, most importantly, quiet. It has both opening windows and air conditioning, which was a nice option to have. We initially opened the window but could hear some traffic from the A1, so we switched to the air conditioning instead and had a peaceful night's sleep. The location is excellent, just off the A1 and within around 40 minutes of many North East attractions, including Newcastle, Durham, Washington and Beamish, making it a great base for exploring the area. One thing to be aware of is that our sat nav didn't take us directly to the hotel and kept trying to send us further up the road. If you have the same issue, using the Toby Carvery opposite as your destination may help, as it's much easier to find. The only minor issue we found was that the TV had a noticeable lag, which made navigating the menus a little slow. It was still perfectly usable, but it may just need a software update. Breakfast was exactly what we've come to expect from Premier Inn: good quality with plenty of choice. There was a wide selection of cooked breakfast items, pastries, breads, cereals and other continental options, so there was something for everyone. Overall, a clean, comfortable hotel in a great location with friendly facilities and a good breakfast. We'd definitely consider staying here again.

  Good hotel, typical of the chain. Comfortable, well appointed, and a good breakfast. Just be aware that the road leading to the hotel is badly pot holed.

  Clean, spacious room with a comfy bed and a good shower, tasty buffet breakfast, friendly, helpful staff. There's a Toby Carvery across the parking lot and a decent pub across the road but there's not much else in the vicinity. We wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful for a visit to The Beamish Living Museum and this was perfect!

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a great hotel this is. Immaculately clean, warm and welcoming staff, good breakfast and excellent location. Despite its proximity to the main road, it’s very quiet. The Toby Carvery is just a few meters away and was very convenient for dinner. Would definitely return. 3-star rating but 5-star standards! Thank you to Paul and his team for making our stay so comfortable. Linda & Charlie ☺️

  Stayed here for 2 nights rooms are lovely and clean beds are so comfortable too greeted in the morning by friendly people and really nice breakfast with lots of choice also great location for us to visit beamish .angel of the north and the metro centre would certainly stay again
