Be very careful of Horizon Parking!
On 24th of May, my family and myself stayed at Premier Inn Slough, for one night before visiting Legoland.
Our stay was pleasant, staff were friendly, we all ate dinner in the restaurant, drank in the bar, then ate breakfast the following morning. We then went to Legoland.
Today 17.06.26. I received a parking charge notice from Horizon Parking. The PCN states that I breached the terms and conditions of parking at Premier Inn, and that I had failed to pay for full duration of stay. I always make a point of paying for parking, as I do not wish to fall foul of unscrupulous parking companies. I remember using my bank card to pay on this occasion. My wife and children also remember me making payment, due to a comment that I made regarding parking charges, (a comment that I shouldn't repeat in this review).
So, no problem I thought, I will produce evidence of my payment via my bank statement. However, having looked at my bank statement, the payment was not processed. I have no idea why the payment was not processed. I contacted Premier Inn Slough, explaining that I had paid for my parking and I asked for their assistance. I asked if they could use cctv to prove that I had attempted to make payment, to which the receptionist replied that they will do if I can provide evidence through my bank statement. I obviously can't provide this evidence, as the transaction clearly had not completed.
I found the receptionist to be unwilling to help me. I have now paid the PCN, as I do not want any negatives such as this against my name for the sake of £57.00. I do not trust parking companies such as Horizon, and I urge everyone to be very vigilant when dealing with parking payments.
Up until now, I have been a fairly frequent guest at Premier Inn across the country. However, I will now be looking for alternative accommodation to Premier Inn, due to the poor customer service I have received today.
