  Lizzie and I get around quite a bit, staying mostly at Premier Inns, when we can find one that has the right location and price. Their uniformity of standard is appealing, however sometimes you find one that fails to meet or exceeds the quality you anticipated. Oswestry has a generally good Premier Inn , but there are some points to note: Room 1. There were no USB points in our room. 2. There are ample plugin points, but only one by the bed. 3. There was a bath under the shower ( we like having the welcome option of a hot bath! ) 4. Bring your own toilet tissue, that which is supplied is barely adequate 5. A large table with a chair was good, however another chair would be useful. Service 1. The lady at the front desk on arrival was a little sullen and somewhat disinterested. I had to ask about the breakfast, and where I should go. Yes, I could have worked this out for myself, but an informative, polite approach should be the minimum standard here. 2. The restaurant serving breakfast is excellent. Good customer interaction, and well stocked with the essentials.

  Terrible sleep due to a potentially faulty fire alarm flashing like a high intensity camera flash repeatedly for 2 nights It was reported but the receptionist lied and said we couldn’t talk to guest series until after the bank holiday Turns out guest services are less than useless anyway Definitely wouldn’t recommend the hotel or its attached restaurant

  Air con!! I was lucky enough to be in a room with working air con and it was an absolute treat. The windows didn’t open because there was air con, which gave us the feeling of being trapped. Unfortunately our sleep was disturbed by a fire alarm at 2.30am- I was surprised that no one came out to tell people it was safe to go back inside That aside, room was clean, beds were comfy and breakfast was good
