  I wouldn't stay here again, even though I've stopped at many Premier Inns in the past, the rooms are ridiculously hot even with no heating on, using a fan all night and a window open, so much for a good night's sleep more like zero sleep! it needs a massive makeover, very tired and tatty looking inside.

  Arrived to no one on recpetion so we did the self check in, however it didn't work so we had to ring the buzzer at reception who then did it manually. We were told due to the heat that duvets had been taken off and if we wanted it putting back on to just let them know. I went back to reception not long after to request the duvet to be put back on, I was met with an eye roll and a sarcastic laugh to which I then explained I could do it myself but I just need one bringing. I was then told that they're under the bed and that I can't do it myself and someone would be up to come and put this on for me. I was asked if I was going out at anytime during the evening and explained I wasn't. They said not worry and someone will come and do it shortly. I thanked them. Did anyone come to put the duvet on... no they did not! So we had a very unsettled evening waiting for someone to show up and they didn't. The customer service was shocking from reception everything felt like a hassle from check in to the duvet. The room was very tatty and dirty with stains on chairs and cracked peeling walls. I bought two ciders from the bar and the glasses given had lipstick around the top and were dirty. Breakfast staff were great and very helpful. Upon leaving again, no staff around. We couldn't see a clear key deposit box so left in on the unattended desk. The place just felt very unwelcoming .

  Had an excellent stay at Premier Inn meadowhall last week for the British Transplant Games. The staff couldn't do enough for us! We had a load of problems thanks to the group booking team but this was no issue for Rachel who sorted them all out for us. Rachel was incredible and 100% needs a raise! Bar/resturant staff on Saturday night we're fab to even with a very full and busy night. Thanks

  Has to be the worse premier inn i have ever stayed in. Room smelled awful. The bathroom sink did not drain properly and was filthy. The laundry lorry parked outside our ground floor room window at 6:15am for 40 mins being super noisy then at 8am the cleaner let herself into our room. It was starting to feel like fawlty towers by now. Only positive was the receptionist was lovely so didn't have the heart to go and moan at her!

  We used this hotel recently as we had tickets to be in the Gladiator audience and it was just brilliant. The location for the arena is fantastic - on the same road. But it's the experience and the staff that made it a brilliant stay for us. Knowing that they are likely to be housing Gladiator audience members for the night, the staff talked with the kids about their upcoming experience, had a made your poster stand full of supplies at breakfast and even gifted bags of sweets to the kids for the queue. Every member of staff we encountered was just brilliant. It clearly states on the booking that the rooms don't have air con and, yes they were a bit warm but the staff had provided a fan (we took our own to plug in) and had stripped the beds back to cooler sheets. If we are every lucky enough to be get audience tickets again or need a family friendly hotel in Sheffield - this is the one. Great job guys.
