  I ordered a steak before 5pm which should have been £7.99 plus £1.99 to upgrade to a serloin steak. I checked the bill and realised they had charged me £18.49 for exactly the same meal. Apparently I'm supposed to tell them what menu I'm ordering from! It's on the same menu! So, instead of charging me the Monday to Friday before 5pm price, you charge me the post 5pm price. Naughty and I asked them to refund and put it through at the pre 5pm rate. How am I supposed to know that I need to point out that I want the special offer price. Ridiculous

  We booked a premium room and it was nice enough but smelt of damp. The bathroom was the worst. It was clean and tidy but definatley had a smell. The bed freaked every time one of us moved (me and the hubby) and I didn't sleep a wink 😴

  The staff were so rude to us on check in and the whole hotel absolutely stunk of stale smoke. We asked if we could have our rooms closer together because they had put our single booking of two rooms across two floors. After struggling with the request they started blaming us for "causing confusion" with the request and then didn't tell us that we had to book breakfast which delayed us on leaving by half an hour as it was fully booked when we went down. We asked the beefeater staff if there was anywhere that we could come inside to wait for our table and they told us no, they wouldn't even let us have a coffee by the bar. Really disappointing overall for a premier inn.

  Self serviced check-in system on the way into the hotel - honestly felt like an episode of black mirror. Room seemed ok until we went into bed and we seen a mysterious brown stain on the mattress topper. Premier inn you should be ashamed of yourselves thinking you can give paying customers stained bed sheets. Couldn’t find anyone to contact to complain about this had to come home early, hoping they respond to the complaint I made online. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

  Shocked that this hotel had been given a 4⭐️ rating, unrealistic expectations on the back of that. Reading reviews I think there must be nice rooms, basic rooms and bad rooms. Self check in, staff rare sighting (not their fault, there are few of them for a relatively large hotel with bar and restaurant) but very helpful when you find them. Our room was a very long way from the entrance, the corridors were grim, the room itself was basic but it was clean which is the important thing. We booked for two people but only one towel in the room allocated, long walk back to try to find reception, seemed to be a lot of us looking for that second towel. This is a budget hotel, basic, lots of builders staying in the week not even enough towels for the number of people booked in, zero frills and if that’s what you want when you get away, you’ll be happy.
