  Great modern PI. Staffing could be better, like a lot of Premier Inns they rely on self check in now so desk is generally unmanned. Restaurant was not busy but could not be offered a table for an hour and a half, chose to eat elsewhere.

  Room clean and comfy bed, decent breakfast, plenty of parking and nice quiet area. Downside is that windows don’t open. AC is too cold for me, not to mention bad for the planet, and also generally unnecessary this far up north with a few exceptional days. Being able to open a window to keep it cool without freezing at night would be a much better option.

  Location excellent. On the whole, a good stay, but guests stand outside smoking which is not a good look or smell. Hotel needs a good deep clean of carpets and upholstery, Accessible wetroom was great but floor needed a good bleach/steam clean. Continental breakfast offerings pretty sparse, cooked looked a bit dried up unless you were there early. Staff noticeable by their absence. the drive towards automation is in full swing but is no use to me being disabled. No help was offered to us with bags etc, or anything else. Ground floor room windows do not open. So what happens if a fire breaks out in the corridor? You'll burn to death as no other exit. Air conditioning doesn't replace good old fresh air although very useful. No drawers to put anything at all in. Rail & a couple of hangers but we ladies need a couple of drawers. Given a good deep clean, and restaurant tables replaced (pretty awful), and staff who actually look as if they want to be there and do a job, then it would be an excellent hotel.

  Stop over on the way south from Northumberland. Large car park, air conditioning in the Restaurant and Room, essential for the hot July weather. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a busy weekend and more staff were needed in the Restaurant, especially on Saturday morning as there only one member of staff who was having to clear and clean all the tables needed for breakfast for guests and didn't have the time to do everything. Premier Inn need to employ more staff at busy times.
