  I’m a real Premier Inn fan, so when we needed to stay in Harrogate for an event, booking a Premier Inn was an easy choice. We chose this particular hotel over the other local Premier Inn because it offered free parking and still had some Premier Plus rooms available. Check-in was smooth and we were even able to check in a little earlier than expected, which was a great start. We were given room 125, right at the end of the corridor, so initially we thought this would be ideal and nice and quiet, with nobody constantly walking past the door. Unfortunately, the walls seemed to be very thin, and we could hear doors banging throughout the early hours, which disturbed our sleep. The bathroom was also disappointing. It looked like it could have done with a more thorough clean, and the soap dispenser had a lot of congealed black soap around the top, which really didn’t look very hygienic. Another issue for me was the bedding. There was a thick duvet but no top sheet, meaning there was really no middle ground. I was either too hot under the duvet and waking up sweating, or throwing it off and then waking up freezing. A sheet or lighter blanket option would have made a big difference. The restaurant was another disappointment. It felt very small and cramped for the number of guests using it, and there didn’t seem to be enough space for everyone comfortably. Although the food we had was nice and staff were nice. Overall, I’m still a Premier Inn fan and have stayed in plenty of their hotels without issue, but unfortunately this particular stay didn’t live up to the standard I normally associate with Premier Inn. The location, free parking and easy check-in were positives, but the cleanliness, noise, bedding and cramped restaurant really let this one down.

  Water pressure is poor resulting in a very weak shower which kept going hot and cold. Hotel is clearly being renovated with reduced car parking. Maybe once all refurbishment has happened this will be an ok hotel.

  To confirm my late arrival time- so i didnt loose my booking, a minute phone call turned into 12 minutes listening to a bloodywell annoying answer machine. SPEAKING to a human being is not allowed. Useless service, lets hope tge rooms are 200% better.

  Absolutely revolting and very much in need of an upgrade bedroom that was dirty and had a leaking ceiling. It leaked onto my son’s clothes overnight. Room was full of cobwebs and we had to put several large spiders out the window on arrival. It hadn’t been cleaned properly though the bedding was clean. Bathroom was mouldy Photos attached of room quality The staff were helpful in that in reporting I was told they fully agreed with me and to contact guest relations. They took my call bit said they could deal with it only once I checked out. So I called again on checkout to be told I would get the maximum refund I could based on their goodnight guarantee. It’s not good enough. I have been waiting for the call I was promised from a manager for a week Now …. No one is replying to my emails

  The staff here are genuinely helpful and friendly, giving it the feel of a small independent hotel. The location is ideal, in a quiet spot on the edge of town but right next to a train station with frequent services into town. Parking is free. On the downside, there is no air con and the windows only open a few centimetres so there's essentially no ventilation. We visited on a hot summer day and it was awful - the worst night's sleep I've had in years. Recommended for stays in spring, autumn or winter. Avoid during the warmer months.
