  stayed here a few times times now to visit family and that past two times now that we have stayed the rooms have been absolutly stinking of cigarette smoke, when i went down to complain i was told that it wasnt cigarette smoke because their smoke alarms are very sensitive, but when you looked at the window sil it was clear somone had been smoking in the room as there was cigarette ash on the window sil. when we arrived the windows were open and the fan on full blast both times to clearly try to get rid of the smell.

  Good location, clearly seen beside the main road through Elgin, the A96. Near the edge of town, not too built up but handy for the town centre.

  Staff excellent but not many of them. Room much too despite the window open and a noisy fan running, no a/c. Have used Premier Inns in numerous locations but paid for meal deals for the 1st time in Elgin, won't do that again. Restaurant had only one person on duty who was run off his feet poor soul. Much of the menu unavailable, no pizzas and no fish and chips. We both had tomato and basil soup which was barely warm. Bread was not included in meal deal. Breakfast not much better, although croissants were ok. We have no complaints about the staff who are clearly doing their best but without much support from management. At £91 for the room plus the cost of meal deals, it was a "rip-off". .

  We were due to stay at this hotel, but I was delayed due to business commitments and my 83-year-old manager had spent most of the afternoon in A&E. I called the hotel around two hours before arrival to explain the situation and confirm that a check-in after 7pm would be acceptable. I was assured that this would not be a problem. However, when we arrived, we were told that we could not have dinner because there were no staff available. This was never mentioned during my earlier phone call, which would have allowed us to make alternative arrangements. We explained our circumstances to the restaurant staff, but there seemed to be little concern or empathy. To make matters more frustrating, food continued to be served from the kitchen to other tables for at least 30 minutes after we were told we could not eat. The bar experience was equally disappointing. We selected four different drinks from the menu before finding one that was actually in stock. Accessibility is another issue. The lift to the first floor is a considerable distance from reception, requiring guests to walk along two very long corridors. This is far from ideal for elderly guests or anyone with mobility difficulties. Finally, we were kept awake from around 1am by seagulls outside. The windows are fixed open, leaving little protection from the noise. Overall, the lack of communication, compassion, and customer service was extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not recommend staying here.

  Checked in. Clean room. Subsequently for a three night stay, rooms were not serviced. Corridors not cleaned. Not sure if there was a staff issue. Not the most glamorous of welcomes and politeness from staff. Enquired about WiFi use and given a password but not told the WiFi had been having severe issues for a few days. Wifi was important as this was a business stay. Explore restaurants in Elgin and surrounding towns for a good choice of food. Adjacent restaurant, service very good. Breakfast acceptable.
