Unacceptable room conditions – ventilation not working and dirty air-conditioning I stayed at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park (Airport) with my family from 2 to 5 August 2026. Unfortunately, the condition of the ventilation and air-conditioning system in our room was far below what I would consider acceptable for a hotel of this standard. The ventilation system in the room was effectively unusable. Whenever we tried to switch it on, the fan produced a very loud rattling and mechanical noise, making it impossible to remain comfortably in the room while it was operating. As a result, we had no realistic option other than to keep the ventilation switched off. At the same time, the air-conditioning system was in a visibly poor and dirty condition. There was clear dirt and dust on the air-conditioning grille and on the filter itself. This was particularly concerning because I was staying with my children, who suffer from allergies. For three nights, we were therefore forced to stay in a room without proper fresh-air ventilation while also having to use an air-conditioning system that was clearly not being maintained to an acceptable level of cleanliness. We reported the problem to the hotel staff. The hotel was fully booked, so we were told that moving us to another room was not possible. The only compensation the hotel could offer was free breakfast for the duration of our stay. I appreciate that the staff tried to offer something, but free breakfasts do not resolve a problem involving the basic air quality and ventilation of a hotel room. These are completely different issues. A small financial saving is simply not worth compromising the quality of the air that you and your children are breathing for several days and nights. I have photographs and video recordings showing the condition of the air-conditioning system and the problem with the ventilation. These can be provided to Premier Inn management or to the management of the hotel chain if required. Unfortunately, after staying at six different Premier Inn hotels during this holiday, I can now say from my own experience that this was not an isolated problem. In every Premier Inn we stayed at, we encountered issues with the ventilation and/or the cleanliness and maintenance of the air-conditioning systems. After six hotels, it is very difficult to regard this as a coincidence or as a problem limited to one particular room. Based on my experience, this appears to be a systemic maintenance issue across the chain and something Premier Inn management should take seriously. For a major hotel chain, I find this standard of room maintenance extremely disappointing. A functioning ventilation system and a clean, properly maintained air-conditioning system should not be considered optional extras; they are basic requirements of a hotel room. My advice to future guests is simple: when choosing a hotel, do not look only at the location, price or breakfast. Check the condition of the ventilation and air-conditioning in your room as well. What you and your children are breathing for many hours every night is considerably more important than a complimentary breakfast. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park was overshadowed by an appalling restaurant experience and an even worse response from hotel management. We checked in at around 3:00 pm and wanted to have dinner, but we were told the kitchen was closed because there were no chefs. We then had to wait until 8:00 pm before food was available – a completely unacceptable five-hour wait. When the food finally arrived, it was cold and parts of it were still frozen, making it inedible. I had invited my parents for dinner, so the whole experience was embarrassing and disappointing. Rather than creating a scene in the restaurant, we decided to leave. What was even more disappointing was the hotel manager’s response afterwards. Instead of acknowledging the unacceptable delay and the poor quality of the food, the manager refused to refund us simply because we had not complained while sitting in the restaurant. This completely ignored the actual problem and showed a lack of customer care and accountability. A five-hour wait followed by cold, partially frozen food should never be considered acceptable. Rather than trying to resolve a genuine complaint, the manager chose to hide behind a technicality instead of taking responsibility for what happened. That response was just as disappointing as the meal itself. I have always trusted Premier Inn, which is why this experience came as such a surprise. Sadly, both the restaurant and the way this complaint was handled fell far below the standard I expected. I cannot recommend eating at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park based on my experience.

The customer service at this hotel is non-existent! No one answers the phone, no one is at the front desk, everything is digitized. Heavens forbid you have a question! The room was spacious and nice, although one of the UBS connectors was broken and I do not know if the personnel were informed since there is no one to whom report it. The cooling/heating system takes a long while to get going. It was about an hour before it got cooler after we arrived. This hotel is NOT an easy access from/to the airport. From Edinburgh you can take a train from Waverley Station at a cost of £3.60 one way, and it will take you right to the hotel as it is located behind the station. Reaching this hotel from, or to get to the airport, you can take the tram that runs from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM between those two locations. If you have to catch an early flight, too early for the tram, you have to call a taxi. The cost for us was about £25 for a 3 mile ride! This hotel DOES NOT offer a shuttle or breakfast. Good to stay in it if you have your own car or NOT have an early morning flight, or don't have to talk to "customer service".

Title: Motorbike stolen right outside main entrance under CCTV; unresponsive staff and non-existent customer service ------ I am writing this review to highlight the complete lack of security, customer care, and empathy experienced at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park (Airport) and from the Premier Inn customer service team overall. On the night of 8th July 2026, at 02:12 AM, my motorbike was stolen right outside the hotel’s main entrance, directly under their CCTV cameras. Complete lack of security monitoring: The bike's alarm sounded loudly for a long time, yet it was completely ignored by staff. Despite 3 employees being on duty that night, they remained locked inside the office without checking the CCTV screens. They only realized what was happening after hearing my shouts for help when I was woken up by the alarm. Profiteering from an emergency: To avoid being turned away into the street while dealing with the police report and emergency logistics, my wife was forced to pay for an extra night at a significantly higher rate than our previous two nights. Zero empathy: After an entire day with the police, without food or water, I returned to the hotel exhausted. When we asked to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, we were flatly told there were no tables available, with zero effort to assist us given our critical situation. Failed cancellation handling: That evening, I handed the reception staff our booking numbers for our subsequent pre-paid stays (Premier Inn York and Premier Inn Colchester), explaining that we could no longer continue our trip due to force majeure. I was assured they would take care of canceling them for a refund. Ignored customer service claims: More than three weeks after returning home, and despite submitting formal complaints to customer care, I have received no response whatsoever. The only refund issued was a ridiculous £ for an unused breakfast in Colchester. Being a victim of crime while traveling is awful, but discovering that the hotel exercises zero vigilance over its entrance and that the company lacks basic human empathy is unacceptable. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel or using this chain, especially for motorbikers.
