Was hat uns gefallen:
Zimmergröße
Bett
Ruhe
"Newhaven Quay Brewers Fayre"
Lovely waterfront location with easy bus ride into town. Great for walks. Easy to go to Portobello Beach too. But you'll have to use cabs if no car. Ocean Terminal has decent restaurants and a Vue cinema.
Service from staff was friendly bar the woman with coloured hair who was probably stressed out but I picked up on passive aggression which I would not have let pass if she said any more. This was about getting replacement room entry cards.
Hotel upkeep is totally fine. The room had windows that open and a fan already placed there. Amazon Fire sticks can be used on the TVs. Brewers Fayre wasn't great, unreliable on many levels. We skipped breakfast for half the stay.I also believe I got charged twice for breakfast but need to confirm and chase this up.

Exactly what you would expect from a Premier Inn. Good beds, good sleep. Clean enough to relax but nothing exceptional.
Public transport in Edinburgh is excellent so being out of the city centre isn't a problem. The view from our room was a bonus and being able to walk a fair distance along the sea wall was really lovely.
There is a Brewer's Fayre next door for breakfast which isn't well looked after. Glasses weren't collected from outside seating areas while we were here and that adds to a general feeling of 'unclean'.

As a family with two young children, we regularly stay at Premier Inn and have previously enjoyed our stays at Premier Inn London Clapham and Premier Inn Stuttgart. Based on those experiences, we expected a similar stay here.
There are certainly some positives. The hotel is in a convenient location, close to a bus stop, within walking distance of Newhaven Fishmarket, around 4 KM to city centre, and offers a lovely waterfront view. The rooms also feel newer and more modern than those at Premier Inn London Clapham.
That said, there were a few differences that affected our overall experience. We only found out later that housekeeping needs to be requested at reception rather than simply by hanging the sign on the door, which was different from what we had experienced at other Premier Inn hotels. As a result, our room was not serviced as we had expected.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the hotel does not have air conditioning. During the summer, the room became quite warm, and we found it difficult to sleep comfortably.
We asked the morning receptionist whether it was possible to change rooms because of the heat, but were informed that all rooms were the same. We also asked if an extra fan was available, but unfortunately none could be provided. Later that evening, another receptionist (young lady) was more willing to help by fully opening the window and removing the duvet from the main bed to make the room feel a little cooler.
Overall, this hotel offers good value and the newer rooms are a nice feature. However, if we had to choose based on our own experience, we found the service at Premier Inn London Clapham to be a little more convenient and accommodating. Visitors staying during the summer may also want to keep in mind that there is no air conditioning, which can make the rooms quite warm.

I stayed at Premier Inn Leith Waterfront and was really surprised to find there’s no AC, and the window can’t be opened at all. With zero ventilation, the room felt hot and stuffy — during my stay, the temperature at night in summer even reached around 26°C inside while it was only about 15°C outside. Although it’s true the hotel doesn’t claim to have AC, I honestly didn’t expect this kind of situation from a hotel in this chain. The unit itself is newly furnished with a clean, minimalist design, but the lack of proper airflow really overshadows that.
