  Worst experience I've ever had of staying in a Premier Inn! There was a burst water pipe which caused terrible flooding to the hallway and several rooms (image). Water was coming into the room and the staff had no idea what to do. There was no manager on site and no staff had authority or responsibility to do anything. Guests were told they could stay in rooms if they wanted with water coming through under the doors. Started at 5am, went on for hours with no intervention. Was told duty manager called in sick, hotel manager was not answering their phone, no contact for regional manager, engineer called with no response in 4 hours. Fire services supposedly called, no response! I ended up pressing the fire alarm myself as there were more and more guests affected by the flooding, stating no water supply to their rooms and electricity issues. Some of the staff couldn't care less and just carried on preparing for breakfast and some struggled speaking English. Paul the night porter was left in the deep end and I felt for him as he was clearly not prepared for a situation like this. Left my phone number as would told I'd get a call to tell me what room I was being allocated and to give some reassurance. The call never came and when I called the hotel, had to navigate the ridiculous 'virtual receptionist' which hung up on me 4 times!!! PREMIER INN, YOU NEED TO DO BETTER FOR YOUR GUESTS AND YOUR STAFF!!!

  Great location. Staff is so helpful, courteous and friendly. But there was a strong carpet odor as soon as you enter the hallway. It feels like carpet really needs deep cleaning as soon as possible.

  Absolute nightmare place to get to, so far from any rail-based transport with nothing around here.

  Restaurant staff very bad at multitasking makes you wonder where they worked before, maybe in a quiet library or museum....

  Have stayed here multiple times over the years as good as ever on our recent trip
