I stayed here for 3 nights earlier this month. The room was a good size and the bathroom was perfectly adequate. Not having stayed at a Premier Inn before, I was somewhat surprised that there was no way of contacting reception staff from the room (no room phone) other than going down to reception and speaking to someone behind the bar. Not convenient, particularly for disabled guests!
Biggest plus factor in the hotel was the helpfulness of the overworked reception/bar/restaurant staff, particularly Nahal, who was exceptionally pleasant and welcoming to guests, despite being non stop busy. Amie was also very helpful and efficient at checkout time.
Everything you would expect from a Premiere, rooms, food, cleanliness all good. 2 things. Ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel to the nightclub...or take ear plugs. Service was AWEFUL. Staff looked like they were being held hostage, manager of the bar and restaurant was so rude...not only when answering one simple question for a guest, but also hideous to the waiting staff, barking orders, no please or thank yous, swearing, slating other staff...and all soooo loudly! I mean come on...not in front of the guests at least. Breakfast would have been lovely had she not been in the room. I do wonder why people that generally hate people end up in public facing roles š, we want bright smiles and how was your stay and can I get you anything's... Not aggression over breakfast! St Alban's is lovely though š„°

The decor of the hotel looked newly renovated which was nice.
We checked in quite late. No one was at reception so we used the self serve check-in which was mostly smooth except the QR code didnāt work and I had to grab key cards from the next machine. We had requested a quiet room and only assume this was what was provided since no one was available to speak to.
The bed and room was very comfortable however, the room was situated on the main road which is normally fine but there were quite a few noisy cars with loud music driving by on night 1-2. Night 3 was the WORST. The nightclub was open round the corner and despite not facing directly to the nightclub - it was SO noisy. We could hear so many people until 4am.
Despite the comfortable beds and the nice staff at the restaurant, we wonāt stay again because of the noise issues. (I had read reviews on this previously but thought having reserved a quiet room this wouldnāt be an issue - I was wrong!)

The whole experience seemed quite impersonal. The room we had was right outside the night club and next to the lift shaft, both of which were in constant use until the small hours, and then, when they threw the empties away after the night, the noise abruptly woke us. At breakfast, we arrived and our booking was acknowledged, and then it was just fend for yourself, no other courtesy was paid, probably because the young lad found it difficult to get off his phone. Finally, in terms of cleanliness, the lifts were really quite disgusting, we didnāt want to hold onto anything and ādripsā down the doors had not been cleaned.
