  Stayed here for 2/3 weeks whilst in the middle of a house move. Staff were polite and responsive to any of my small requests. Clean rooms in a great location. However they could do with a couple of Premier plus rooms though.

  Writing this at 2am as I struggle to sleep due to the noise of presumably staff above my room, constant heavy footsteps and a door banging. Even with ear plugs in the noise is making the room vibrate so can be heard. No point telling reception as it’ll just be a long wait on the phone to be annoyed by the substandard response. Good night guarantee also useless, looks like they’ll expect me to pack my bags and family up at 2am and move to another room to be able to get my money back for this rubbish nights sleep. Will never return to this Premier Inn, as it’s clearly in the group where either staff or (unlikely) guests do not care about sleeping, they’re on their night shift so make as much noise as they like.

  Basic food area for breakfast, no restaurant. Parking is in car park opposite, which has a charge plus 4 hours max. stay between 8am & 6pm. Other long stay car parks available between 5 & 10 minutes walk. Very convenient Premier Inn if you want to be in centre of Hitchin.

  Decent enough for the price. You know what you’re getting with a Premier Inn, but would say that this one is looking a little more tired than some other Premier Inns I’ve stayed in. Bed comfortable, room was fine, clean enough but not properly vacuumed. Corridor carpets were noticeably in need of a vacuum. My biggest complaint was being forced to check in via a machine, even though there was a member of staff available. Why remove this one basic human interaction with the hotel staff? Presumably this is a company-wide policy to cut costs (and in the long-term cut more jobs). It’s sad to see the direction the world is heading in and left a bitter taste in my mouth after staying here.
