  Only stayed for 1 night as had an early ferry booked. What was only a stop gap stay was very nice indeed. Hotel is situated in a small seaside entertainment area but the soundproofing on the windows is so effective we couldn't hear anything. Lovely meal at Papa's next door and a lovely walk along the front. Room was very spacious and clean and the staff were lovely and friendly.

  I booked a premier plus room twice to beat the heatwaves and the rooms did not feel "premier." The first time we stayed, the staff were kind but never really fixed the issue of the AC completely not working. Staff provided the reason being that they were process of renovating and upgrading the AC units. The AC unit in our room was gurgling as it was leaking fluid and the most frustrating piece is you can attempt to control the temperature in the room, however the front desk has true control, which seems odd to me. So I had to keep going down to the front desk at odd hours to have the front desk reception adjust the temperature. The second time we stayed in a premier plus room (about 2 months apart from our first stay) the AC unit remained an issue AND there was hair in the bathroom/shower area. We just stayed one night thankfully. Not sure I'd book a third stay as there are many Premier Inns nearby. This one is just located near the water with sea views, but you have to pay for parking and it is quite touristy. I have definitely had better experiences in the UK with other Premier Inns. Most recently, the staff and management appeared annoyed and burnt out, not the best customer service. But I am American and customer service really doesn't exist in Europe or the UK unfortunately. Plus.....this is a 3 star rated hotel so it does live up to its rating.

  I just want to thank the blonde lady on reception Friday night (possibly Nicola?! Could be wrong) who I managed to get us a very last minute room sorted out even earlier than expected. This was after a night from Hell at travel lodge. The room was lovely and clean, air con on for us and perfect for two more nights! Thank you again, our first festival weekend was nearly ruined but you made sure it was fab again! Premier inn always from now on!

  Situated more or less on the Southsea seafront which if you haven't been is like a poor mans Cleethorpes. It has its own car park and is next to a small amusement park and a few bars and eating choices including a Papas. 2 minutes from the hovercraft terminal for the 10 min trip to the Isle of Wight. A little faded in places and rather pricey. About a 30 minute walk to the Portsmouth historic dockyard area.

  We stayed 3 nights, having stayed a few times previously. The bar and restaurant are closed for renovation but this was compensated with a complementary breakfast. The room was looking distressed and old and in need of renovation. The double glazing had blown its seal and had condensation throughout making it difficult to look though the widow, this is probably a good thing because the window overlooks a work sight dedicated to the reclamation of the seafront. The bathroom extractor fan wasn't working, had been sawn half so that it would fit and had signs of mold building up around it. The crome of the bath/shower funiture was showing signs of corrosion and the crome plating flaking off it. The bath cauking had mold and skirting boards needed repainting. Even though 2 people were staying in the room, only one full length towel was provided. Finally the air-conditioning made a excessive noise making it difficult to sleep but small mercys it was working.
