  I like this hotel and have stayed many times now as I visit Portsmouth a couple of times a year. The plus points are that the location of the hotel is fantastic. Close to Dockyard and also 5minutes walk from Gunwharf Quays Shopping outlet. The reception staff are polite and friendly. The very big downside is the housekeeping and cleaning staff seem to be lacking for years. Annoyingly you have to notify reception by midday if you want your room serviced, unlike other hotels I've stayed in where you just put the 'please clean my room' sign on your door handle. Over and over again after requesting a room service you come back to your room and the basics are not done. Bins not emptied and toilet paper not refilled. It has been this way every time I've visited and is the only downside I have experienced at this hotel. Primer Inn, please live up to your name and give a Premier service and you will get a five star review.

  You know what you're getting with a Premier Inn room. This branch had friendly staff, a good breakfast, and it's ideal for an overnight stay before catching the ferry to the Isle of Wight. Car parking is available a short walk down the road. The ferry is only a short drive away.
