  We have stayed here a few times never been disappointed. Very helpful staff. Great location. Had premium plus room and well worth the extra money. Breakfast hot could have been warmer but continental good selection. Evening meal the food was good, when, we eventually got it as only one chef working. Glad we booked early.

  The rooms were clean and well kept even at the cheapest price point however food is either cold or non existent they are seriously under staffed and our bookings were messed up

  Our stay at Premier Inn Portsmouth Dockyard was extremely disappointing. At around midnight, a man was behaving violently and discharging fire extinguishers, triggering the fire alarm and forcing the entire hotel to evacuate. Fire and Rescue attended, but when guests were allowed back inside, we received no meaningful explanation or reassurance from hotel staff. We subsequently saw broken glazing in internal fire doors. An internal security door was unlocked and could be accessed without a key card, despite the access equipment being fitted, and Reception was not continuously manned. To make matters worse, we had no water during the early hours until around 8am, when only cold water was available. Premier Inn has offered us £52, equivalent to 50% compensation, and refuses to reconsider, despite my understanding that other guests affected by the same incident received 100% compensation. I have not accepted this as full and final settlement, but Premier Inn has deemed the complaint closed. I appreciate the incident was caused by another guest, but the lack of communication, the concerns about security and fire safety, the water disruption and the handling of our complaint have left us very dissatisfied. A very unsettling stay and a disappointing response from customer services. I would hesitate to stay here again.
