  The receptionist lacked the skills required for a customer-facing role. After I mentioned that I would be leaving a review, he threatened to cancel my reservation. I work for a company and stay at Premier Inn hotels every week; I have never encountered such difficulty with the check-in process. The booking was made by my manager, as is always the case, yet this was the first time there was an objection to me using it. I had to call my manager, and even then, the staff member remained reluctant to complete the check-in.

  Although the staff, especially those serving breakfast were working to the best of their abilities, the availability of breakfast items was poor. Lack of staff, poor management and lack of preparation seemed to be the cause.

  Big mistake regarding the pub, soul destroying for staff, no atmosphere, used to be very busy with great atmosphere, cold, quiet and dreary.... Staff lovely food nice and hot

  Get the feeling PI might be taking their foot off the quality pedal. Marked service down as the 1st floor room allocated to us was in a block with no lift. Heavy cases, older people should have been picked up.

  Beds at Premier Inn are usually comfortable, here is no different. A complaint I have with all (M)(H)otels is there is never enough coffee (I bring my own). The bar is pleasant, food service is intermittent - some days you'll get it, others you will not... The food will be inconsistent as they rely on agencies to provide staff and chefs. I had issues with paying for food, as I was offered a meal deal, I thought that was a cheaper dinner - it was not, it includes breakfast - check what is on offer! The staff probably don't understand the menu, as they are from an agency and it is probably the 1st day and the manager, in what I saw of her, was not very good at explaining things! Over All - a nice place, But don't expect more than a bed; nor expect all the lights to work in your room... Mine didn't! It's ok but not great, had cheaper places with better standards.
