I don't like the automated check in, I prefer talking to a person and being directed to where my room is not have to go searching for myself, having said that the rooms are clean if a little dated and the staff that were there couldn't be more helpful, the food next door is really nice and very good value for money. Luxury it's not but it's not the worst placed I've stayed in.

My family booked two rooms costing £236 in total. One of the rooms had a strong unpleasant smell, a dirty and stained carpet, poor ventilation and was unbearably hot. We reported the problem immediately, but were told there were no alternative rooms available, leaving us stuck in a room that was clearly not fit for the standard we had paid for.
What makes this even worse is that Premier Inn later admitted in writing that the room was “not of an acceptable standard” and acknowledged the issues we raised. Despite accepting that the room was below standard, Guest Relations Advisor Fatema offered just £56 compensation and described this as a gesture of “goodwill”.
£56 back from a £236 booking after Premier Inn admitted the room was not of an acceptable standard is frankly insulting.
I found the response from Fatema and the Guest Relations team dismissive and, at times, rude in tone. Rather than feeling that my family’s concerns were being taken seriously, I was left feeling as though Premier Inn simply wanted to close the complaint as cheaply as possible.
The most disappointing part is not just the condition of the room, but the way the complaint was handled afterwards. Premier Inn acknowledged that the room was below standard, yet still believed £56 was an appropriate resolution. That says a lot about how they value customer satisfaction.
This experience has completely changed my opinion of Premier Inn. I will not be staying with them again and would strongly advise others to think carefully before booking.
One of the worst hotel and customer service experiences I have ever had.
