  Absolutely disgraceful — avoid if you value your time or expect basic customer service. Our steak and curry arrived cold, so we sent them back. After waiting 15 minutes, we were brought hot chips — but still no steak and no curry. Another 10 minutes passed before we had to ask if we had simply been forgotten about. The response? “I’ll go and ask.” Apparently, asking wasn’t very urgent, because we then waited another 15 minutes with absolutely no food and no update. The manager (Kerry), who had taken our food away in the first place, repeatedly ignored us when we tried to speak to her. Eventually, we went to pay for our drinks and told them to forget the food altogether. We asked the manager for an apology. Instead, we got: “I haven’t charged you for the food, just the drinks.” That was apparently their idea of customer service. No apology. No explanation. No attempt to rectify the situation. Just cold food, endless waiting and being completely ignored. Absolutely shocking experience. We certainly won’t be returning.

  The staff are very professional and greet you with a very warm welcome. I really like staying here when I'm on business in this area.

  Stayed in a premier plus room. Premier WiFi works well. Having a fridge in the room a welcome addition. Bed comfortable decor lovely room clean. Downside stairs to reception and restaurant quite dusty as is the fire extinguisher and radiator (you could write your name in the dust) at the bottom of the stairs. On our first night we ate in the restaurant the young girl serving was very polite and friendly. Our food took a while first course was nice. Dessert we had to remind the staff we wanted the dessert we ordered then waited over an hour for it. The sticky toffee pudding was like a slab of concrete. Decided next time we'll eat elsewhere .

  Hotel felt short staffed. Not their fault, but it impacted the service; check-in took too long, food orders often delayed, any requests took an age to be fulfilled. Staff were perfectly pleasant and apologetic in those moments, but the moments happened often

  Sorry this is late, I stayed for 2 nights 4-6th September 2026. I booked a premier plus room. Was very clean, comfortable and spacious. There was the bathroom fan but I slept through it the second night. Food was basically fruit and juice. My choice not for lack of options. It's location is at a service stop. So, I guess that fits a purpose for overnight layoff. I spoke to several staff, all were polite, willing to smile and talk. Answer enquiries and make the stay even more pleasant. I was sad to learn that the brewers fayre and the beefeater were in a situation. However, this did not dampen the brewers fayre staff service and general pleasantness. Thankyou
