Premier Inn Edinburgh – Erfahrungsbericht
Edit: I have already contacted customer relations and was offered no resolution. My photos of the room were also blocked from being published with this review.

Hotels don’t need to be luxurious, but they do need to be clean, and their staff should treat guests with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this stay fell far short on both. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this property.
The room was not up to an acceptable standard of cleanliness. I brought these issues to the attention of employees throughout my stay, and I was disappointed they were never properly addressed.
The cleanliness issues were compounded by one particular employee who was extremely rude and dismissive. The way I was treated was completely inappropriate for someone working in hospitality and made an already disappointing stay significantly worse.

Great location, but the cleanliness is a disaster. The elevator stinks, the lobby carpet is filthy, and there were stains on the blankets. Housekeeping is terrible overall. For what you pay, the price is far too high—it feels like they’re taking advantage of the location to overcharge customers.
During our stay there was a road block right in front of the hotel, and they never gave us any heads up. The front desk staff always looked grumpy, and they couldn’t even guarantee our room would be ready after 3 PM—as if they were doing us a favor. I would rather pay £50 more per night to stay somewhere else. Would not recommend.

I love premier inns but on recent trips around the country I've seen a drop in standards. The staff are always absolutely brilliant and so helpful and really are your best asset. It was an extremely busy weekend for Premier Inn, Princes St, Edinburgh because of events happening throughout the city and although the general room clean was ok, the room needed a deeper clean which would not be possible for daily housekeeping. There was brown scum on the shower head where the spray comes out and on the plastic door seals. The grout between the tiles also had brown dirt that would have come off with a good scrub. My son's room had a child's cot containing a shocking mattress with a 1 to 2 inch gap around the edge, luckily they brought their own travel cot. I only book Premier Inns because of the comfy beds and fantastic helpful staff but I will be looking at other options unless cleanliness improves. I'm really sad that I'm loosing a gem of a play to stay.
