Always loved the old purple palace. You know what you’re getting from the minute you walk through the door. Aycliffe PP was clean, tidy and all you want from a place to lie your head for the night. No frills, but didn’t need any of that - this was all about revisiting an old friend in another part of the country.

Breakfast was poor. Hair in the food. No fruit. I wouldn't choose premier inn again as the breakfast isn't really unlimited, you have to sit and wait for someone to take your order for hot breakfast which then takes ages.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic stay – one of the best Premier Inns we’ve stayed at! We had such a lovely stay at this Premier Inn for the Great North Run. The room was spacious and had plenty of plug sockets which made such a difference, especially as a family. Everything was spotlessly clean and really well presented. What made this stay extra special were the thoughtful little finishing touches for the children. They had colouring packs, sweetie packs, biscuits, water and fruit waiting for us, which was such a lovely surprise and really made the children feel welcomed. On the day of the Great North Run, we were also welcomed with complimentary water and fruit, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture and much appreciated. The staff were welcoming and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into making guests feel comfortable and looked after. We’ve stayed in plenty of Premier Inns, but this one really stood out. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it, especially for families. Thank you for such a fantastic stay!

Great base for visiting Durham and Northumberland. Great value. Clean. Cleaners left activity packs and sweets for kids which was nice touch.

We have been a premier inn customer for a number of years. This hotel is easy access from the a1m jct 59 only 7 minutes away. But this must be one of the better upto date hotels we have stayed in just recently. You have in room of your stay - • tv • table/chairs • comfy bed • tea/coffee available • shower/bath/toilet. Thank you premier inn for stay we will be back soon
