The size of the rooms and cleanliness was perfection. Just what we needed. The location was perfect, short walk to the town centre and resturants. However, the fan in the bathroom didnt work and you cannot open the window fully. I was then shamed for streightning my hair as it kept setting rhe fire alarm off. How is this my fault. The fire alarm was right over the mirror. The receptionist spent a good 2 to 3 minutes coughing and flapping the curtain seriously exaggerating the even. Hey premier inn if you design it that way you'll have problems. Then to top off the awful morning. Breakfast was a rabbit Warren where adults large and slender along with smaller versions of themselves reaching over eachother and bustling for the next pastry. With the lower ceiling this area was an Autistic nightmare. To add to the already crammed environment the tea and coffee area was separated. We searched everywhere for the tea bags to only see them on the otherside. And, yes there's more, the milk for the coffee and tea was with the cerial nowhere near the drinks. I have travelled from Cornwall to Glasgow and stayed in many premier inns. This by far has been an experience ill never forget, and will never repeat.

I stayed at this hotel for five nights, and overall, my experience was okay. However, there was one member of staff who seriously disappointed me. I asked for my room to be cleaned before 12pm Thursday morning l, but when I returned in the afternoon, nothing had been done. When I asked about it, other members of staff said they were not sure why this had happened. I understand that mistakes can happen, so I left it at that. However, the following day, my son and I went for dinner, and the same member of staff was working. We had previously spoken to him about the cleaning service. When we ordered our meal, he told me that it would cost around £30. I agreed because it was my first time using the hotel's meal service and I wasn't familiar with the pricing. Within a few seconds, another member of staff came over and explained that children eat for free, and the price was reduced to around £20. This made me question why the first member of staff had given me the higher price in the first place. I was very disappointed by the way this situation was handled. I was also surprised to find out from other members of staff that he has worked at the hotel for a long time, and that he is now a manager. If he is a manager, I would expect a much higher level of professionalism, accuracy and customer service. The other members of staff I dealt with were lovely, friendly and helpful, so this is specifically about my experience with Nick the manager. I hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously and looks into what happened. Unfortunately, if this member of staff ( Manager Nick ) continues working there, I would not feel comfortable returning to this hotel. As he is fooling people around or maybe that's why he is a manager now. Other guests should be aware and double-check any information about services or prices that they are given otherwise Nick white man with short grey hair will fool you.

We specifically chose this hotel over another, more conveniently located option because it advertised working air conditioning. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing to find that, for the second consecutive year, our family room had no working air conditioning and very little ventilation. The same issue occurred in one of our family rooms during our stay at this hotel last year. With four people sharing one room, the lack of air conditioning made the room extremely uncomfortable, particularly given the extreme heatwave we have been experiencing. It was especially frustrating to experience the same issue again after encountering it during our stay last year. I raised the issue with a member of staff who I believe was the manager- who was very rude I must add. Unfortunately, his response felt very dismissive. He commented that hotels experience issues like this at this time of year, rather than offering much help or reassurance. When I asked if we could have a fan, I was told, “When I have time, I’ll bring it up.” A fan was eventually provided, but I felt the situation could have been handled in a much more professional and understanding manner. Although a fan was eventually provided, it was simply not sufficient given the extreme temperatures. The room remained very hot and poorly ventilated, which had a significant impact on our comfort and overall experience. It is particularly disappointing to experience the same issue for a second consecutive year. We chose this hotel specifically because air conditioning was advertised, despite there being another hotel closer to the beach. We would strongly urge the hotel to ensure that the air conditioning advertised is fully operational and that guests' concerns are dealt with promptly, professionally and with greater understanding, particularly during periods of extreme heat.

We booked an accessible room as my daughter is disabled with mobility issues. Our first disappointment was the lack of parking, we had to be dropped off and my son in law park the car a couple of streets away. The room whilst accessible was on the third floor which meant using the lift which was constantly being used by people who could have took the stairs. Yes not all disabilities can be seen but when a family of 5 barge into the lift past someone with a walking stick you do wonder. So we had lengthy waits to get to our room. Maybe accessible rooms could be on the ground floor or have a sign on the lift asking visitors if they are able to take the stairs instead. The room was clean. The bathroom shower curtain was inadequate and the floor was flooded after my daughter showered. We really needed aircon as it was red hot (7 to 8 August) trouble was the unit was extremely noisy and it wasnt that effective. Our next issue was lack of sockets over near the bed. Six over next the desk and tv none at the bedside. We had to purchase an extension so my daughter could plug in medical equipment. The bathroom door was a slider which was heavy and stiff and took so much strength to open and close we really struggled considering it was for disabled guests. Breakfast was adequate but the pancakes were frozen and had not defrosted sufficiently. There was a male member of staff dressing down another member in the dining area which was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The area to actually get food was very small and difficult to get around. All in all I wouldn't stay again. For what we paid between the four of us we could have rented a cottage. Saving grace was a comfortable bed and decent blackout curtains. If you book room 311 make sure you work out those upper arms so you can open the bathroom door!

Beware of the parking information given by reception staff. There are so many issues that need addressing. When we arrived to check in, the gentleman at reception asked if we knew about the parking. I told him we'd parked on the nearby side roads because I'd read reviews saying the hotel parking was limited. He replied, "Oh, you've been here before." I said no, I'd simply read the reviews. He then commented, "Well, not all the reviews are true." I found this odd but brushed it off. He told us we could use the hotel car park to pick up and drop off within ten minutes without being fined. This sounded ideal as we had young children and luggage. Unfortunately, this turned out to be incorrect. When we got to our room, the bathroom was dirty. There was sand brushed into the corners along with other crumbs (photos attached). The extractor fan was completely clogged with thick dust, clearly something that hadn't been cleaned for a very long time. It looked like years of build-up, not something missed during routine cleaning. Also when we returned later to the room we found small flies circling the extractor fan near the dust build up and had to store any wash bags in the bedroom as the flies kept going near the bag/toothbrushes. The lift also smelt of urine when we first used it. I reported the dirty bathroom to reception and asked if it could be cleaned while we were out. They agreed, but when we returned it had only been partially cleaned. There was still sand left in the bathroom. I don't understand why it wasn't simply vacuumed properly. At that point we just wanted to enjoy our stay and let it go. Towards the end of our stay, I checked with the same receptionist about the parking to confirm we wouldn't be fined for picking up and dropping off within ten minutes. He then told me it only applied to one drop-off and that if we didn't pay we would receive a parking charge. He even admitted that many guests had already complained to him after receiving fines. I asked why he hadn't told me this when I checked in, especially if he already knew people were being fined. Instead of answering, he repeatedly said, "We don't own the car park. It's nothing to do with us." That completely misses the point. The issue isn't who owns the car park, it's that reception staff are giving guests incorrect information despite knowing it has already resulted in parking charges for other customers. When I asked why he hadn't explained the one-drop-off limit, he couldn't give me an answer and simply continued blaming the parking company. To avoid the stress of potentially receiving a parking charge, I ended up paying for parking even though I never actually parked there , I only used the area briefly ( within 10 minutes) for loading and unloading. This was the worst experience I've had at any Premier Inn, and honestly the worst hotel experience I've had. While a couple of members of staff were friendly, the poor cleanliness, misleading parking information and lack of accountability completely overshadowed the stay. I would not stay here again and would strongly advise future guests to be very careful about relying on the parking advice given by reception. If the complaints department could contact me, or I will shortly be contacting them as this was far, far below the expected standard.
