We recently stayed at the Premier Inn in Dumfries. We have done this many times over the last two years. The last time we stayed we had our breakfast there. The quality of the food was good. However, I would like to remark about the service. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted with the happy smiling face of Angela. Very friendly and professional. Throughout our visit she ensured that we were okay. Can't recommend her enough. Made our dining experience very pleasant.

As regular users of Premier Inn, we have been in better. The bathroom needed a refurb. There was no aircon but the window did open. Everything else was the usual standard. Location was ideal for us.
We stayed here one night and we've stayed in many premier inns so they are generally the same. Very comfortable beds a lovely hot shower, but no cool air at night is an issue as you can't open the windows very much, especially when it's warmer.
The lady at breakfast Angela was so lovely and chatty and really helpful she made our day I wish all staff were like her, Thanks Angela

Great location and the hotel had enough parking whilst we were there but was mostly full. The access road is absolutely horrendous and you bounce around all over the place! They were building a McDonald's when we were there but it didn't cause any disruption.
The restaurant is ok and breakfast was good but the evening meal we had was very average. It took ages to arrive and my crispy chicken burger was very dry, a little burnt and just very underwhelming. The place needs a revamp, the chairs were a bit shabby and unfortunately there were a lot of flies.
The room was a large family room, which was great but the weather outside was 24 and it was 28 in our room which was unbearable. I heard other people complaining saying they had to get up for a cold shower. We took a second fan with us which helped a little.
The room was very tired. There was laminate peeling on the desk which was sharp, and the bathroom was not nice. The extractor was falling off the wall (hubby fixed it back on) and the panel under the sink was falling off and i think maybe leaking? The towels smelled fusty, the bathroom smelled awfully damp and as soon as anyone used it, it ran with water and smelled worse.
The staff are great and really make up for the shortcomings elsewhere but when you're staying in your room the majority of the time, it needs to be a little better than it is I'm afraid.

Location is excellent for access, 👍🏼 sited right on the main road into Dumfries, giving easy routes into, and out of town. Staff are polite, friendly, and helpful, 😁 with Angela seeing us to our table and telling us about the area 🙏🏼. Our room was fairly standard premier Inn, but being a corner family room, was a nice size, although it was a little disappointing to see the fan, and panel in the bathroom falling off, and the front edge of the desk had the trim peeling, and was quite sharp on the legs. We stayed while the outdoor temperatures were 24°c during the day, and I was pleased I bought a second fan for the room, as with no air con, and restricted window opening, the room was 28°c overnight 🥵. Value is always good in a premier Inn, one of the reasons I choose them. Overall cleanliness was good, although the amount of flies in the restaurant was a little excessive. Noise levels were very quiet after approx 6pm, and before 8am, but during the day, they were driving concrete piles into the floor for a new McDonald's, but being here for a holiday made no difference to us, as we were out at those times. Parking was enough for us to get a space, but seemed to be completely full for our stay. Overall a good experience, and would use this hotel again.
