Really pleased with our stay at Derry's Cross. First thing I noticed was how clean the room and bathroom were—immaculate. We opted for the meal deal, and both breakfast and dinner were great quality with generous portions. Friendly team running the dining area too. 10/10 for food and cleanliness!
Fantastic stay from start to finish! The room was absolutely spotless and maintained to a really high standard of cleanliness throughout our stay. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the food exceeded our expectations—great selection on the cooked breakfast menu, and the evening meals were freshly prepared and served quickly by friendly staff. Couldn't ask for a better location in Plymouth either. Will definitely return!

Stayed here for over a month and the service was exceptional and unwavering. Lovely staff, Mash,Jack and the twins are credits to the company.
Excellent Premier Inn in the centre of Plymouth, very convenient with many amenities nearby. It is hard to comment on the service as we didn't use the restaurant and we used a self check-in screen. But personally I love being able to do this, makes my stay seamless. No issues with the room whatsoever, and the bed was comfortable as ever. I'd return if I need to stay in Plymouth.

Booked into the premier inn for a couple of nights as it's right next door to Theatre Royal Plymouth. Checked in on Wednesday 7th October. I'm unsure of the name of the two ladies working from afternoon into the evening that day, but they're exceptional front of house staff.
Location: Right next door to Theatre Royal Plymouth. Close enough to be a 30 second run, 2 minute slow walk. Taxi rank around the corner to the right, and plenty of shops all the way up to Drake Circus. Drake Circus and Barcode/Cineworld I would say are a 5-10 minute walk. For those partial to a Maccies, there's also one a two minute walk around the corner as well.
Despite being near the roadside, the hotel is quiet and you should get a quiet nights sleep.
Service: We chose to eat at the hotel restaurant on the first evening as we were knackered. Food is good, cooked well, but can quickly total up. If we were looking to save a few pounds we probably would have on hindsight nipped to maccies had we known how close it was at the time, just for a quick meal (Same thought as you should never shop when hungry).. but really really can't complain.
We paid for unlimited continental breakfast. Lot's of great choice and enough that you probably wouldn't need to eat until the evening. Oat Milk was available on request, but pretty much instantly available when you're 'checking--in' for breakfast. as they ask about allergies etc.
Staff: We can't speak highly enough of the two ladies working on the Wednesday afternoon check-in and into the evening, but have to say that the staff overall at the hotel are fantastic. They're engaged and clearly appear to care about what they do.
From a conflict resolution point of view, we witnessed the younger of the two on the Wednesday evening deal with a rude guest, she handled it tactfully and well.
Rooms: Initially placed into a room on the first floor (this was a logical and fire safety choice by the hotel) due to my partners mobility. Unfortunately we needed to move (their suggestion) due to the duvet having a mark appearing through the white cover which appeared to be an old blood stain. We only wanted change of bedding. We were moved to what I believe would have been the room that we were originally booked to. I then felt horrified that I had to ask for clean bedding again due to marked/stained sheets and hair.
It's normal to have some hair drop off when rooms are being changed over, and whilst there are a few materil spots that the domestic team should have picked up on, the issue is arguably more with the Premier Inn/Whitbred laundry vendor
We asked for fresh bed linen and said we're more than happy to change it. It's not their fault that there were issues.
They were great and it only took us a few mins to change bedding over. Apart from that, there was just a sticky cup ring on the desk service in front of the kettle/cup/beverage tray. Again something that only took us a second to wipe clean, but can imagine may be missed depending on the lighting.
The TV remote itself was pretty cruddy, missing back cover, and accumulation of either dead skin, skin oil, food on the lower buttons. Would probably benefit from a protective cover to make it easy to wipe clean during turnaround.
The room itself was good. It's a city centre location so no expectation of a room with a view. Easy control of the room lighting along with the bedside lights and the blueish almost blacklight lightening which is soft enough to fall asleep to if you don't completely like the dark. En Suite great. Enough hanging space for a couple of days clothes for two people.
All in all, we'd book in and stay there again.
