  This hotel should not be open as it is a building site covered in sheeting. And I don't mean just a few tubes of scaffolding and possible obstructed views as we were informed a month prior to arrival. It was too late to change hotels and we had paid £130 upfront not including breakfast. We should never have had to pay that kind of money and the hotel should be temporarily closed. Customers are being taken for mugs and it is an absolute eyesore for Exmouth seafront. Even the subcontractors looked sorry for us guests as we arrived in the car park as did the very pleasant front of house lady. I have written to Simon Ewins MD of Whitbread PLC hotels and his team and am awaiting a response after providing all my booking details.

  Original booking only had 1 person not 2 on booking contacted customer services this was rectified. On checking in only 1 of us booked in rectified when found 2 email. Room very small only 1 set of towels. Aircon went of in night so hot & nobody about to help windows sealedshut health & safety apparantly. Room not cleaned despite requesting clean had to go with receptionist to laundry room tocollectnew towels. Happy hour receptionist turned into bar person but wasn't aware what drinks you could have.!! Receptionist also served meals In restraunts. All very unprofessional rooms not adequate for 2 people. After booking I was notified some view may be obscured by scaffolding the whole hotel scaffolding & dust barrier around it.noisyworkmen Should this hotel really be open like this. I have complained directly to premiur inn . Waste of time. Really whole stay should have been refunded

  We recently stayed here for three nights, and overall were pleased with our stay. The location is great, with easy access to Exmouth's bars and restaurants. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly, and very helpful. They genuinely wanted to make you stay as good as they could. The breakfast is great - and really good value for money. It sets you up for the day! The room was very quiet. Initially we were concerned about late night noise from the bar next door, but the triple-glazed windows really work and we slept well. After a long journey, we arrived about 45mins ahead of the 3pm check-in time and asked at reception if we could check in. We would only be allowed to check-in on payment of the £15 early check-in fee. So we chose to wait the 45 minutes and have a drink in the bar. When we got to our room, we found a large carrier bag of someone else's possessions in the storage drawer and our room only had 4 of the 6 hangers limiting hanging space for shirts and dresses. Reception staff were really apologetic and helpful. Hangers were found and we were unexpectedly comp'd our earlier drinks. After our first night, we asked for our room to be cleaned. Which it was, but we were left without any towels. Reception were very apologetic and helpful, and it was Nyree(?), again, who found us fresh towels. Onsite parking is limited, and costs £8 up until the following midday. So, that's an additional cost to be factored in. Once you've paid your £8 you are able to come and go from the car park as you wish - however, on your return it may be full and you not get a space. Be careful or else you could pay for parking and then find you need to pay again elsewhere if the Premier Inn's car park fills up. This hotel is really good on so many aspects, but, like we've seen with Premier Inn elsewhere, housekeeping lets it down a bit.

  Would have been nice to have been informed about the reconstruction. Other than that room was nice. Breakfast was nice. Just spoiled it a bit with the reconstruction.

  Building is a wreck. Been under repair for years. Staff try to make stay pleasant. You are paying for great location and nothing else
