I visited the store and purchased a pair of sunglasses on August 11 at 6:30pm ish. The entire transaction was completed within five minutes. However, the associate assisting me automatically provided a bag without asking if I needed one and charged me $0.25. While the amount is negligible, I later realized I didn’t need the bag and decided to request a refund.
Upon returning to the store to kindly request the refund, the associate seemed surprised that I had come back for this reason and responded with a noticeable attitude behind the cashier.
The manager, initially somewhat dismissive, mentioned that in grocery stores, customers pay for bags. I explained that I did NOT get the questions asked from the sales for getting the bag, which would have avoided the charge. The associate heard and appeared ready to respond with some negative attitude but the manager intervened.
Overall, I feel that the associate did not exhibit the level of professionalism expected in a high-end luxury retail environment, and now I know I would HAVE TO ask not to have the bag cause the sales are assuming you will buy the bag and automatically charge you $0.25. LOL.
