My state was absolutely amazing. The rooms were very clean and very spacious. If you forgot any toiletries, they would give you some downstairs at the main desk. The continental breakfast was very good with real food, not just quick foods. If you are staying in the area or even down the road in Charlottesville, I would recommend this place.

The service was terrible they had no one in the parking lot told us our rooms would be done at 3 o'clock and we still didnt get in our rooms till 430. We booked 3 rooms for one night then the breakfast wasn't ready on time so our crew didnt go to eat cause we had to go to work. Terrible place

Indoor pool / hot tub wins me over every time. Not to mention IHops, Walmart, and restaurants in walking distance
My husband made 2 room reservations with this hotel before a snow storm hit so we would have a place to stay should we lose power. Apon arrival to check in (6:30ish pm) there was a pretty long line to check in. I waited every bit of an hour to get to the front desk to check in. In while doing so witnessed several issues. Keys not working and guests being sent to rooms that were already occupied and overheard the elevator was out of commission. When I made it to the front desk the lady behind the desk informed me that rooms weren't clean and she had no idea when they would be clean. Mind you I came here to check in unpack and get settled in before I left to go home to get my children and bring them back. My husband needed to get to Richmond to began plowing asap so the wait was already a little inconvenient. A little aggravated I said, check in is at 3pm it was now 7:40pm and you dont have clean rooms? She shot back sternly with, check in "begins at 3pm" I have never in my life been told rooms were not ready, Especially over 4 hrs after check in. Which their website does not state "check in BEGINS at 3pm" I feel that was an extremely unprofessional response. And not all the response I received but im not going to go into it further. Guests still in line were also upset at her response. I left, calmly to go get my children and came back in hopes the rooms would be ready. After returning with my children there wasn't a line and was greeted with the same lady we both smiled and got through check in. Im very aware the circumstances were out of her control and more so due to lack of quality management and staffing. However, I still disagree with her "check in begins at 3pm" response.
Moving forward. My room was spacious but I do not feel it was cleaned. There was still coffee rings from cups at the coffee counter. Which made me wonder about the cleanliness of the bedding and if it were changed or only made up if they werent stained. We were looking forward to the pool and hot tub but the pool looked like it could have used a cleaning as there were particles floating around and the hotub definitely should be resurfaced. It looked as if it had mold at the bottom. Not sure exactly what the filth was but it turned my stomach and I didnt get in either the pool or hot tub. The breakfast was mediocre. To sum things up. After the hiccup at the front desk the staff was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay but I would never book with them again. I personally would have stayed at the Hilton across the way but my husband already booked and paid for this one. I do want to note I called the GM and left a message and have yet to hear from them.
