I stayed at that best weastern in May 17th 2026 through the 21rst . It was the most horrible disgusting b.w. ever. NASTY. First off I was the ONLY one there , so why tell me to move my truck ASAP after unloading my things? Turns out the owners need it for their vehicle. There was a hot breakfast when other people were there but next day it was another waffle or cereal. Mcdonalds came in handy. The old woman (owner) sits at the lounge all day and will not greet anyone with a welcome, thank you, or how is your stay? I said good morning every morning and you would of thought I was cursing her. Last straw ...I got a cart for my belongings and while I was loading my truck , the old woman took a broom and began swatting at the base of the cart the entire time I was attempting to get my things loaded. In many cultures and that of Indians as they are to do that to let you know you are being thrown out. What the hell, they already had my $600.00 plus for a very disgusting stay. The stench at the entry doors are bags of moth balls. I was there because there is no other decent place ,unless you drive to Goliad Tx, nor close by to stay. My home town is Woodsboro Tx. I was there for my brothers funeral which was devastating to begin with. For the most part of that stay I was the only guest on the premises. The first room I was to use smelled of mildew and mold. The room was hot due to the air conditioner not working . The refrigerator was hot as well. I brought it to the front desk attendant who i had to go looking for.....everytime I needed something there was No One at the desk. She said being Sunday no one would be coming around to even look at it. By the way, the owners live there yet no one can help. I was moved to the next room. Smelled even worse. I made the mistake of removing my boots and socks , WRONG!, my feet stuck to the nasty carpet. Shampoo bottle is maybe 1/2 an ounce and dont ask for conditioner. Cheap! The shower curtain was dingy, the soap was better used for strictly hand washing, and housekeeping does not restock the cheap shampoo nor the soap. Breakfast was decent when other people were there not while it was only me. Other than a hot waffle or cereal. That got old quick. The old woman became very angry at me for having helped myself to 2 very small apples that equaled 1 decent sized apple. After my brothers funeral it was definitely time to go. Forget another night of hopeful rest for a 2 day drive back to New Mexico. I got a cart to take my things out to the lobby with intentions of keeping the cart under cover while I loaded my things into my truck. It was raining !! The entire time that I was unloading the cart the old woman continuously hit the bottom of the cart and my feet with a broom pretending to sweep. In their culture it is a get the hell out of my house now gesture telling you to leave ASAP. That was more than insulting! After getting home I called corporate with my concerns. Do they care????? Not at all. Don't stay there. You'll regret the waste of time and money.

There were lots of problems and when reported I was treated as if my concerns did not matter. I was double charged without my consent before check in. The room smelled like mildew and cat pee. The carpet floor was sticky so we had to wear shoes in the room. I did not find bedbugs so that and it being so late was why we decided to stay instead of moving hotels. The hallways were visibly dirty as well. The pool was smelly, very dirty and had plastic, bugs, and dead frogs floating in it. The breakfast was half of what was advertised and always running out before time was up. Even though it is advertised and also a sign showing it...they had no gluten friendly options besides yogurt. The business center computer was not working and I was told they didn't know why. The first 2 nights we had horrible service but Samantha came on staff and was very helpful with printing something I needed and getting us new towels and shampoo. I would say she was the only positive thing about that hotel. I will Never stay here again and possibly no other best western because they did Nothing to help me with this issues even when I called corporate. Very poor customer service!

I arrived on the evening of July 3. The day-shift front desk attendant who checked me in was very kind and helpful. The following review is not a reflection on her, to be very clear. She was *great*. Everything that followed was not. A couple of hours after checking in, I noticed a roach in my room. While this wasn't a major issue by itself, as I understand an occasional insect can sometimes find its way indoors, I notified the front desk and asked whether the hotel had any spray I could use. The night shift attendant explained that she was new and brought me a can of Raid that was labeled for wasps and hornets. Since that product is not intended for indoor use, I chose not to use it and handled the situation myself. Later that evening, as I was getting ready for bed, I realized the bed only had sheets and there was no blanket in the room or closet. I called the front desk several times, but no one answered. I went downstairs and found no one at the desk. There was someone asleep on the couch in the lobby, whom I believed to be the night attendant. I attempted to gently wake her but was unsuccessful, so I returned to my room and continued calling from my cell phone after the room phone also stopped working. Eventually, I went downstairs again and she was waking up on the couch and asked if I had been the one calling. I explained that I needed a blanket. She told me she hadn't realized the calls were coming from a guest and brought me a couple of blankets. When I returned to my room and pulled back the sheets to get into bed, I discovered a large yellow stain on the sheet. As I removed that sheet and the layers underneath, I found multiple larger yellow and brown stains throughout the bedding, extending all the way down to the mattress. There were also a few very small black insects present, though they did not appear to be bed bugs. I was extremely disturbed by the condition of the bed. I returned to the front desk and requested clean sheets. The attendant apologized and said she would leave a note for housekeeping before going into the linen room. She initially handed me additional blankets rather than sheets. I clarified that I needed bed sheets so I could replace the stained ones, even pointing out the shelf where they were stored. She then handed me a comforter instead of sheets, along with more blankets. At that point, I used the comforter as a barrier because it was the best option available. The following day, I discovered that the ironing board had a broken leg and had to be propped against the wall to be usable. When I returned to the room later that evening, I found another roach. I do want to add that I do not fault either front desk attendant. Both were kind and courteous. Although the night attendant was asleep in the lobby and appeared confused about the linens, she had mentioned that she was new, and I understand she may still have been learning the role. My concerns are primarily with the condition of the room and the housekeeping standards. Just as an additional heads up, there is no conditioner, only shampoo, so be sure to bring this yourself if you are someone who uses it. If you're traveling from out of state and planing to use Uber or Lyft, it is difficult and at times impossible to find a rideshare service. Plan way ahead, schedule your uber rides at least a day in advance and have a backup plan. I was unable to get an uber in time for a wedding I was attending and missed the ceremony. I a found taxi service an hour away that was willing to come get me, which was very expensive. So, drive/rent a car if you can. ***There is no elevator. Maybe this is listed on the website. If it is, I missed it. Had to carry one luggage at a time up and down the stairs. I am physically able, so not the worst thing. But please be aware of that and be sure you request the first floor if stairs are not accessible for you.
