Do not stay here. Not if it’s discounted. Not if it’s free. Not even if they paid you to stay here. After spending an overnight at this property, I left at 6:30 a.m. only to come back with the Clara head and asked to be checked out and for a refund which I was denied. I checked out anyway, even though I had to pay for somewhere else to stay, I simply could not stay here a minute longer. , I can confidently say it was one of the most unacceptable hospitality experiences I have ever had.
While the property itself has major issues, what made this stay truly awful was the staff’s complete indifference, dishonesty, and lack of accountability.
The Broken Promise
Prior to arriving, I realized I had accidentally booked a room without a bathtub. Because I was recovering from recent surgery and desperately needed that accommodation, I immediately called the hotel. I was explicitly assured on the phone that a room with a bathtub could absolutely be set aside for me and that the request was noted.
When I checked in, the front desk again confirmed the room existed but said it was simply being cleaned. Instead, they sent me to a room with only a shower. When I returned to the desk, they sent me to a second room, promising it had a tub. Again, no tub. This is a very small hotel; the staff knew exactly what their rooms looked like. Instead of being honest, they repeatedly misled me, forcing me to make multiple, painful trips back and forth while recovering.
Zero Accountability
When I politely requested a refund because my needs were completely ignored, management's response was a slap in the face. Despite the prior phone call days prior despite being told at check-in that the room was being cleaned for me, and despite being sent to two different rooms under false pretenses, all they could say was: "Well, you didn't book a room with a tub." Or talk to your third party. Completely trying to deny the phone call, the multiple trips and the conversations.
They made me wait extra time on arrival for a room that didn't even exist, and then used a technicality to dismiss me. I hope you understand that says it all.
A Neglected, Unsafe Property
The physical state of the hotel only reinforced the lack of care:
The Atmosphere: The surrounding fence is wrapped in circular barbed wire, making it feel less like a hotel and more like a facility. Despite the obvious safety concerns of the area, there was poor lighting and no visible security. Other properties did not have the circular barbed wire but what I did observe was they had security as well as great lighting. It is my understanding this barb wire did not warrant off trespassers if someone did break into a vehicle, the staff had no idea how to handle the situation but instead just blame the guest for not locking their car door or leaving something in their car, etc.
The Room: Stuffy, poorly ventilated, and uncomfortable. Curtain and shades dirty and torn . The air quality was unpleasant and the window shades were tattered and neglected.
The Elevator: Genuinely unsafe. It jolted repeatedly, failed to level properly with the floor when stopping (creating a major trip hazard), and lacked any visible up-to-date inspection certificate.
The Food: Breakfast was far below even the minimum standard of acceptable.
The Bottom Line
Ultimately, this review isn't just about torn shades, a bad breakfast, or a sketchy elevator, or no regard to safety of guests. It is about how human beings are treated. I arrived vulnerable with specific needs in place place that I received assurance prior, needing one simple accommodation that had been confirmed multiple times. Instead, I was misled, ignored, and treated like an inconvenience. My son whom was age 16, traveling with me told me he felt unsafe at property, I took him to stay with his team. He had always stayed with me but I was glad he chose to leave because I felt I couldn't guarantee his safety.
Once a hotel proves it will not do the bare minimum to for guest’s safety and basic needs are met, all trust is gone. Do not stay here..ever.
