Hallways are damp and musty smelling like sweaty socks. The room had a king bed with extra soft mattress and smelled like a smoker had been there and they tried to wash the smell with soapy water. Lobby women room all four stalls had no seat covers and soap dispenser had no soap one dispenser.
I arrived on Sunday 5/3 at 4 pm for a conference. Check in is listed as 3 pm. Waited for over three hours to check in my room. This caused me to miss a scheduled work meeting. When I asked what the delay was I was informed they were “busy”. They had a convention in town and weren’t prepared for it! Only one person working the front desk the whole time. That person let me know that the rooms weren’t clean yet. The housekeeping supervisor then came out to “discuss” with me and proceeded to give no solutions just an eye roll and attitude. This same person strolled through the lobby multiple times as over 10 guests waited in line for hours to check in. Only when she came out to speak with me did anyone realize she was supposed to be supervising house keeping. I’m sure taking your break at this time is not what is trained.
Beyond that it only got worse. We had no hot water for the three days I was there. The shower got room temperature at best. When I informed the front desk they replied “ yeah…it’s been like that for a while now”. Wow….no indication that repairs were happening….just an indifferent response. With no hot water I question the sanitation of the entire place including the food handling.
I travel monthly for business and this is one of the worst experiences I have had. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
This was a horrible experience. The room they put us into was next to a group of young, maybe intoxicated, party guests. Our room was 204, their room 203: They continually slammed their room doors and yelled and sat outside in the hallway in front of our room. Eventually we called desk (three times before situation was resolved) and they "tried" to quiet this group of people. This happened on Thursday, Friday night. Saturday night another very loud, couple was put in a room maybe 205/206: The profanity and screaming and slamming of doors was horrific. We had attended a play and did not come into our room till 11:30 p.m. We mentioned this to night clerk immediately and with no results.. At 2:45 a.m. I called again and they said they'd come up (we were on the second floor) how long does that take for problem to be resolved.
Why would this hotel put party goers next to older people (husband is in his 80's?) Why didn't they move said guests to another room where they could be as obnoxious and rude as they wanted.
We were exhausted and had a 9 hour drive to return home on Sunday.
I'll never book a room at a Best Western again.

I came to this place because it has good reviews, what a lie they gave me 1 room that smells disgusting so I asked to be moved to another room the 2nd option was worse no smells but the bed sheets were no changed the bathroom has so many hair like someone has a hair cut there it was soooo disgusting I asked no to be moved again but send someone to clean it and the guy a the front desk said that there is nobody who can clean the rooms it is 6pm is no late, and also he said that if I want I have to go to the front desk and get the bed sheets and clean the room by myself so I went down he gave me clean sheets but the sheets where for a queen size bed and thr bed from the room was a king size what a nightmare
I know what the reviews say. I can only go by my experience. The room was clean, no bugs, comfortable bed. The staff was courteous and friendly---every single person, right down to the guy who bused the breakfast buffet who greeted me with a hearty, "Good morning Sir!"
The breakfast bar has a Belgian waffle maker and decent coffee, and didn't run out of food at 8am like a lot of places. The neighborhood looks rough, but as a long time Philadelphian, I know the area is safe, just a few blocks from Chinatown and one block off Broad Street. I would definitely stay here again.
