This place gets an A for effort and a B- on execution. My first room shook lightly and vibrated non-stop. Turns out, I was right above the commercial washer/dryers on the first floor. Asked to be moved and they did so promptly. My new room didn’t shake, but if you pushed the door open semi-hard without even keying in, it would just open, which wasn’t awesome. Let them know and they promptly addressed it (shout out to Geraldo for fixing it quickly). WiFi also did not work for my entire stay; I let the front desk know, but it never resolved for me. Rooms themselves are renovated and clean. Location is central and accessible to most of the main Bend sites.

Overall there was just a high degree of inflexibility on reservations from management. Make no mistakes, you are dealing with Best Western corporate policy here, not individual judgement that may be best for the hotel and its customers.

Peppertree offers great design, good rooms, useful common space, but none of it is over-the-top ridiculous. In fact, I often think the central stairwell is genius bc it isn't shoved off in a dark corner.
HOWEVER.... in a town famous for quality coffee, the Peppertree runs hard in the opposite direction with a small push-button coffee maker in the breakfast area, proudly offering Folger's coffee.
This is among the worst coffees I've ever had in the world, and I've traveled pretty far.

Dallas ( I think his name) the front desk was amazing. He greeted the guests every single time they came in and was so helpful and friendly. He showed me around the entire place downstairs when I arrived. He is so great at customer service. This hotel is such a great location, grey price, has a Mexican restaurant inside, free breakfast, beautiful and clean pool and spa, the workout room was great and had everything I needed. I definitely am going to come here again when I come back for work. I love that they have complementary coffee and water left out 24/ 7!

Pros: good customer service, convenient location about a 6 minute drive or 25 minute walk to the amphitheater and river parks, clean hotel, decent pool and hot tub, seemed to have decent sound insulation in the rooms, despite others stating the contrary.
Cons: the hotel is trying to cut back on their utility bill by restricting the AC used both in rooms and in common areas. Tends to be toasty in common areas and the thermostat has a restriction to only can go down to 65 in rooms, which feels like about 70. Other guests were commenting on this too. typically don't have an issue with this with other hotels in the area. The breakfast area where they serve food is too small and can be a bit chaotic with lines during peak breakfast time. If they addressed those two areas, it would be a 5 all day long.
Overall, we had a nice stay.
