Do not be fooled by the advertisement that they have an indoor pool and provide FREE breakfast. The pool is extremely small and only 3'9" deep all the way around AND the FREE breakfast is EXACTLY the same EVERY day. A person can only eat eggs, sausage and "some kind of egg/sausage casserole" for so long. We did it for 2 days and then had to eat breakfast elsewhere.

I've been loyal to a still good hotel in sandusky ohio but started getting disappointed in the rooms smelling like pure butt, so decided to give Best Western Plus in Sandusky a chance, and I am THROUGHLY impressed. As you walk in the building has a unique appeal, welcoming setting. The lobby clean and beautiful with drinks and snacks that you can charge to room or pay at desk. To the left of the front desk I was like NO WAY, THE Simpsons Original Arcade game and guest laundry and high speed desktops for your kids that are them p.c. gamers or for anyone that needs to access free Internet in a peaceful setting. I was given a room on a higher level so I had to take the elevator and it was so cool to rise in the elevator as your looking out the glass front side looking over iconic State Route 250.as I entered the room, I was like there's no way this room looks so much better, cleaner and upgraded then where I had been staying at for almost double the price a night. I believe the most welcoming experience was the front desk staff. PROFESSIONAL, POLITE, HELPFUL. I've stayed at hotels all over the U.S.A. and honestly it was the front desk staff that won me over to know when I come over to Sandusky and need to clean peaceful safe and fun environment, I'm going to Best Western Plus on State Route 250 located in Sandusky, Ohio. Bonus, there's a basement! And the only hotel I've ever seen with an indoor swimming pool in the basement weight room, and also gathering center that I could see a beautiful catering company or high scale bar grille placed in there if managed and run right. There's not many times I choose to speak up about good service...but this place naturally earned it!
One of the best 3 star hotels I have been to— the staff was super kind even though they were kind of new. Everything was super clean! 10/10 recommend!

This hotel was NOT the best. Crunchy carpet in the room, no towels in the bathroom, hair from previous visitors on the shower wall, dirty towels laying in the elevator. The pool is very tiny and was in the basement. Not that we were in that long, because there was another couple, seemingly intoxicated, in the corner of the pool doing very ADULT; INAPPROPRIATE things, while me and my family were down there, as well as others with a small child.

The window in our room didn't close all the way and was partially open the entire time. The beds were hard with old mattresses and the pillows were super soft and gave minimal support. The sheets didn't even fit the bed properly and came off in the middle of the night while sleeping. Our air conditioner never kicked on, despite adjusting the temperature several times.
The staff were all pleasant and kind throughout our stay and helpful whenever needed. We had no issues or concerns with any staff members and were grateful for their kindness and hard work.
The breakfast was just okay. They had a yogurt "station" that promotes making your own little yogurt cup but then had only one add in for it. There was no peanut butter for any breakfast times like the toast, bagels, or waffles, and zero toppings for the oatmeal other than plain sugar or sweetener. The sausage, eggs, and waffles were all good as were the muffins and fresh breads. Not exactly sure what the egg, sausage, gravy? combination mix was but it definitely didn't look appetizing. The juice was also so watered down that even the kids noticed, and we tend to water ours down slightly at home.
We usually don't dislike Best Western but this was definitely not one of our favorite stays.
