  Checked in. Get to our rooms first thing we notice is there is no blankets. Just two sheets. We booked two rooms with doubles all four beds set up the same. We got in late so just turned the heat up went to sleep. Next morning we noticed our smoke alarm was completely missing with wires hanging. Go to take a shower tub is clogged. Take the boys to the pool at 8pm pool closes at 11. All lights were off, get the lights turned on, and the pool had the pumps turned off so now it was being treated or filtered. It looked like dirty stagnant pond water. No room service out of 3 nights 4 days we had zero room service. It looks like best western acquired another old hotel, however it is not fit to stay in yet and needs a lot of repair. I would be willing to bet the the smoke detector being gone is a huge violation in the Michigan code book. I would pick any other hotel but this one in the future.

  Had a little bit of an oversight during check in with my reservation, but Theresa the manager handled it with ease. Staff when I seen them were very friendly. Its was a very relaxed atmosphere. Also the beds are some of the most comfortable beds you will find at a hotel. Lots of comfortable pillows. Rooms are updated enough and clean. We come to the soo yearly for a bowling tournament and I think we found our new spot to stay!!

  The staff was friendly and check-in was quick and easy, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall condition of the hotel left a lot to be desired. The building looked quite run down both inside and out and could really use a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. Our room showed a lot of wear—window shades didn’t work, paint was chipping on the sills, and the curtain was partially ripped away from where it attached to the ceiling. On a positive note, the bed was clean and reasonably comfortable, but the general upkeep of the property needs significant improvement.
