All right, so I love the location in Freeport. We were traveling between Freeport and Bath so that worked great. It was rust in the bathtub. The Wi-Fi was very intermittent. There was no working ice machine. They did say we could go to the other property around the block though how sweet. The swimming pool was nicely kept but the shower room at the swimming pool was not functioning. We also ran out of hot water one night it was lukewarm. It was fixed within 24 hours though. If they intended to make it a good place to stay they’ve failed thus far they have work to do for sure. It could be a nice place at worthwhile stop on your trip just not so much yet. I must say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. They also apparently had trouble with the key cards because two nights they stopped working. I had to go get them reset.
I had a wonderful stay at Best Western. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The location was convenient, and the overall hospitality was excellent. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, our stay at the Best Western Freeport Inn was very disappointing. The property is in serious need of maintenance and a deep cleaning.
Our room (#316) felt grimy throughout. The main bathroom light switch plate cover was permanently sticky with some mysterious residue, one of the reading lights by the bed didn’t work because the bulb was broken, and one of the vanity light bulbs in the bathroom was burned out. There was also a noticeable black stain on one of the curtains. The refrigerator appeared to have leaked at some point, and the cabinet showed visible water damage. Our balcony door would not lock, which is a significant safety and security issue.
The biggest issue occurred Saturday around 2:00 p.m. while I was showering. The water suddenly stopped completely in the middle of my shower. After a couple of minutes, it came back, but only as a trickle, barely enough to rinse the shampoo out of my hair.
The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows were oddly small, about half the size of a standard pillow. Even the toilet paper was exceptionally thin and low quality.
The keycard system is a nightmare. One of our room key cards never worked properly, and we later learned that several other couples traveling with us had the exact same issue with being locked out of their room and having to then drive to a separate building to get a new card. They also commented on how dirty and worn down their rooms were, so our experience was not an isolated one.
Parking was another frustration. The lot fills up in the evening on the weekend, and because the hotel sits on a hill, we ended up parking farther away and walking over uneven ground in complete darkness. What was most surprising was that there is no elevator in the building, so guests have to carry luggage up and down a full flight of stairs. If mobility or accessibility is a concern, this is definitely something to be aware of.
Overall, this property feels neglected and overdue for updates. Based on our experience, and the nearly identical experiences of the other couples in our group, I would not stay here again.

Rooms are big and adequate, parking is good but something just feels off about this hotel. Not a bad place, but seems like bottom of the bucket from those in the area, especially for the price. FYI - "Pet friendly" for this hotel means 2 dogs per room and $30 PER dog. Examples of deferred points of friction: 1. Ice machine not working (I don't think it is a recent development), 2. Hot water takes several minutes to reach room, 3. Front desk is at another property, 4. No vending onsite, 5. Rooms and hallways are dated and inconsitent (e.g. light bulbs are different colors), 6. No real food delivery options in the vicinity, 7. Water would not turn off in shower (valve at end of life), 8. TV remote would not operate the TV (wasn't a battery problem remote LED activated when button pressed, but no results on TV), 9. sink plug inoperable, 10. Shower drain slow, 11. Shower head spray drippy and sad, 12. The keycard system is a mess (different building vs. room keys, but they all look the same - try keeping those key cards sorted) seems like people solved the problem by just propping the door open with a rock (aka no building security). Place might be OK in a pinch, but I'd keep looking for other options unless this is the only show in town.

I’m incredibly disappointed in this hotel. The website states that the pet fee is $30/day. I have 2 dogs and I was charged $30/day per dog. Seems that the paper I signed declaring pets specified the $30/day per dog and yes, my fault for not reading it. I was there for 3 days so my bill was $90 more than I expected. Also, the WiFi service was horrible! I arrived on Thursday and it was mostly okay but kept cutting out. By Saturday a password was needed and it didn’t work for me all day. I had to use a significant amount on my data plan. I won’t be staying here again!
