Title: Systemic Service Failure, Discrimination, and Deception – Avoid This Facility
I deal strictly in facts and evidence. This review is a formal warning to all travelers, specifically disabled veterans and families with challenged children, regarding the Best Western Circus City in Peru, Indiana, and Expedia Travel Services.
On March 15, 2026, I arrived at this facility at 4:08 AM after navigating life-threatening thunderstorms. I am a cane-assisted, disabled American Veteran who had prepaid $454.13 for a 4-night stay through Expedia. Instead of a safe harbor, I encountered a facility in total disarray, with construction debris and torn carpeting stacked at the main entrance.
The front desk associate displayed extreme unprofessionalism and overt hostility toward my disability. Despite providing my legal name and booking identifiers, I was falsely told no reservation existed and was refused service, leaving a disabled traveler stranded in the early morning hours.
Furthermore, when I requested escalation to management, the associate provided a business card for the "District Manager" that deliberately listed the exact same phone number for the motel front desk. This was a calculated act of deception to prevent a consumer from reaching oversight.
I returned 48 hours later to attempt a peaceful remedy, and was again met with hostility and refused service. Expedia and Best Western Corporate were issued a formal 7-day Notice of Intent to resolve this unauthorized retention of $454.13. They have chosen to completely ignore the notice.
They are currently holding my funds for services never rendered. If you value safety, integrity, and basic human dignity, do not patronize this facility. Investigation with the Indiana Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division is officially underway.
Best Regards
