  I found some questionable food leftover in my fridge from the previous guest, but aside from that the room was great! Very convenient location to Indiana Dunes, clean aside from the fridge, and a good breakfast to top it off

  Best Western in Chesterton. Lauren front desk, hurtful & nasty. She was already rude to me before this, setting that aside. I tried again & I politely asked her name & she gave me the dirtiest look. I asked her if I did something wrong. she immediately lost her shit & blew up all over me, screamed in my face & took her problems out on me. So of course I was on the edge & gave her a peace of my mind. My mother, 86 years old, just had her breast removed with cancer, barely made it out of surgery is having trouble recovering. Lauren's not the only one going through major problems. Outside of this power outage. I specifically mentioned I was handicapped. I feel like she didn't listen to me at all. Not at all caring about the client's or her job. This is a week after the power outage, so many people have their power back on, there's plenty of open rooms , so I don't understand how I ended up so far away from the amenities? I had to do a huge amount of laundry, so painful for me to walk these aisles up & down so many times. I am in so much pain, I can barely walk to finish it. It's ruined my entire stay. I don't care to ask for another room because I can't move two weeks of misc. items by myself. My son is at work & won't be back until it's late. So i'm just choosing to tough it out. By no means, do I want to go anywhere near the front desk at all i don't have the time or energy to try to complain about anything. To possibly be treated like crap again. So I'm just going to suffer through it. This could have been a really nice relaxing stay. Had somebody else served me. This is a nice hotel, its how I was treated by lauren, the long walks all day long, up & down that long hallway that ruined my stay. If your problems are bothering you that bad you shouldn't come to work & take it out on customers. Putting your negative energy on them ruining their time when they're having problems as well. It's not professional. On a positive note, outside of Lauren at the front desk. Everybody else I ran into that were here were very pleasant & kind. The rooms are large & very clean. Having sliding glass doors that lead to the water outside is really nice. I would like to say thank you to all the kind maids. They were all very sweet & helpful. People like that should be at the front desk! Not people that are running clients away, not listening, being rude & selfish, unprofessional & ruining their stay. I dislike leaving negative reviews & wasting my time. I won't mention any names, but there's a few people i spoke with that feel the same about her. I feel it needs to be addressed.

  Positiv: gute Aussicht auf einen See, großes Zimmer. Negativ: kein Frühstück obwohl wir das extra mit gebucht haben, sehr laut, da hier ständig Züge (Tag und Nacht) mit mehrmaligem sehr lauten hupen vorbei fahren, um Bettzeug für das Schlafsofa zu bekommen mussten wir 2x nachfragen und dann das Sofa selbst beziehen. Das Schlafsofa ist sehr unbequem, man spürt jede Feder. Definitiv eins der schlechtesten Best Western Hotels in dem ich bisher war.

  8-8-26 Overall a pretty good stay. First off... no elevator. The room was clean but had a slight musty smell when we first got into the room. We opened the patio door and the odor soon dissipated. We didn't smell it again during our 3 day stay so no issue. The matress was too soft for my liking but I prefer a firm mattress. The view of the lake was great! The price was ok for the weekend. Close to the interstate. Close to many good restaurants.

  Just going to throw an honest review of our stay last night (7/30)…. The location off the highway is excellent. The pool is large and doesn’t overwhelm you with chlorine. Staff here was friendly and check in was easy. There are courtesy bathrooms on the second floor! This hotel is one of the affordable options for a reason. Our room smelled like dog pee. The pictures I’ve included show how little attention is paid to detail cleaning. There is no elevator at this hotel. Also the train tracks are close enough that you will train horns through the night. There are multiple well trafficked areas where the carpet is pulling up and it needs replaced. This hotel could use a overall refresh… Just wanted to leave an honest, recent review so that everyone can make their own decision while being informed
