Room was fine - we had an issue with the first room we were assigned and it was a bit of an effort to get issue rezoled; ultimately had to change rooms. Great pool area if you have kids. Breakfast options were okay - but hey - included in the room rate.
I’ve been coming to the same event for over 10 years and we stay here because of the in house bar/restaurant. We can go to the event and come back to a good meal and a few beers. No where does it say that Old Chicago is closed online or even at the motel until you get down the hallway small sign on the door says closed. We were even bringing extra friends for dinner so that kind of ruined the night thanks. And then we find out the buffet breakfast is a crowded little room with cook your own waffles with a line of people waiting to make theirs. To go eat on the small patio by the pool. Very disappointed

I'm writing on behalf of my mother who is currently trekking across the country and wanted to avoid Chicago's traffic. She has now span many nights in hotel rooms, especially beat western and noted how beautiful this one was. It stood out more than most.
She is traveling with her dog and greatly appreciated the pet friendly aspect of this hotel, not only for the fact they allow pets, hut had spacious grassy areas for her dog to walk, smell and enjoy.
Also notable for this hotel - very quiet. Always appreciated when traveling and you end up on hotels right off/near the highway. It was very clean, what should be industry standard, but sometimes others fall below. The staff were both friendly and efficient which appreciated every time to get in and out of the hotel. Would absolutely stay again.
Was woken up by hotel staff at least 10 times in just over 9 hours.
Checked in at 9am. By 930 the cleaners were loudly dropping trash cans or something outside my room. I think I fell asleep by 11, then they started knocking on the door. Every time I progressively got louder saying "I'm here until 7pm." The 4th time they knocked i yelled go away at the door, they yelled back "check out is at 11." I snapped. The front desk lady said she didn't want to put me by the pool because it was too loud, but I'm not sure this was any quieter.
Then, I'm wide awake because I'm getting irritated by all this, and the maintenance guy starts cleaning all his tools off WITH COMPRESSED AIR right outside my window at 130. Then around 2pm I took a shower and ordered food to try and sleep. When I got out of the shower it was incredibly hot in the room... the air broke.
Called the front desk, maintenance came and fixed eventually. Finally get to sleep by 4pm, and they ring the room phone at 615pm. I didn't ask for an alarm clock, I asked for peace and quiet.
Wow. As someone who spends over $10k per year on hotels, I can tell you this is the 2nd worst experience I've ever had.
There was a red roof inn in CT that gave my room card to another group of drunk people, who stormed in my room at bar close time. That scared the life out of me. This was a close 2nd on worst hotel experience ever
Pathetic service, new front desk staff cannot get a simple ADA room reservation right, nor adjoining room reservation, made over the phone with the front desk and confirmed twice more on phone, laundry facilities removed, restaurant / bar closed, forced to use side-door (outer and inner doors) with no opener with two elderly parents and trek down the hall to a non-ada room
