The hotel was fine overall, but the location wasn’t my favorite. It wasn’t very walkable, and I found it surprisingly difficult to find my way around inside the hotel. The breakfast was also pretty basic, with limited variety. It worked for a short stay, but I was expecting a bit more.
I stayed here because the hotel rates in Council Bluffs are much better than the rates in Omaha and they are still within 10 minutes of the zoo. This was my favorite hotel of my trip. Everyting was clean. The room was pretty standard. The breakfast was good. What stood out was the single large public space that had the biggest indoor pool I have seen in this class of hotel, along with lots of seating, and the fitness center. Most hotels feel a bit cramped and compartmentalized, but this one was more of an open concept. The breakfast area felt pretty roomy also.

Upon arrival I thought this was going to be a decent place. The lobby was clean and they had a little bar and a small convenience area. The parking lot was huge which was nice. We were in a Northwest Corner room on the second floor. There is a truck stop across the way which makes the smell unpleasant, but there's nothing that the motel can do about that. The stairwell smelled like Lysol cleaner and pee. Our room was decently clean, however when I lifted the cushion on the chair, it was disgusting and soiled. The freezer in our room needed defrosted as it has a pink color on the ice as if something leaked prior to our stay. The water pressure was good. The bathtub faucets leaked when turned on, the cold faucet in the shower was coming off the ring and you could see the threads. The phone was missing a bunch of buttons and had no contact card. I called the front desk on my cell phone and asked for another blanket. The lady asked someone else if they had additional blankets and then put me on hold. I was then asked if I could come get the blanket. I said no, I'm already ready for bed. Was then rudely told if I wanted another blanket I had to come down to the desk and get it as she was the only one there, and then I was hung up on.
Continental breakfast, sausage had no taste OJ dispenser was out of order and they had no other OJ to offer.

My husband & I were traveling from South Dakota to visit Omaha Nebraska with our toddler. Our only plans were to see the Zoo & hit up a local playground. I booked this because it was a decent price & had decent reviews. This isnt a fancy hotel, it was defintely dated, we had a lil privacy issue with our curtain we were able to fix ourselves. But the staff was EXTREMELY accommodating.
I meant to book Fri/Sat in their jacuzzi suite but booked Sat/Sunday thru expedia by accident. They explained to me how I could switch things around but id have to settle for a different room Friday, which was fine. We then explained our zoo plans and explained we had a toddler so wanted to get into our suite early. They said theyd try but being it was the weekend, couldnt promise. When we got back from the zoo he had us in our room, 1.5 hours before check in.
The room, while it was very dated, was very clean. U could see in the window but we just propped our suitcase against the curtain to easy fix.
The breakfast is a basic, mid, hotel breakfast but it has a little of everything if you arent picky. Pool looked clean but pool area was warm.
All in all, we had a pleasant stay & were 10 minutes away from both attractions, all while avoiding the outrageous taxes of omaha NE.
BUT I WILL SAY NONE OF THE ROOMS WE STAYED IN HAD A FAN IN THE BATHROOM. That kinda sucked.
Over all, would defintely stay again for a budget friendly weekend at the zoo.
Update:
Manger responded here and through email, never bothered to try and reconcile the situation, the manager actually accused me of making false accusations when i have nothing to gain by doing so. Ive been a diamond select member for many years now and stay at many best westerns nation wide. The only positive is best western corporate does care.
By far one of the worst hotels I attempted to stay at, and hands down the worst best Western. Originally checked and to start the lobby was extremely hot and had mildew smell to it, the halls have an overwhelming smell of chemicals. Then I got to the first room which was 235 and you could hear everything going on outside and mice squeaking inside of the walls, went down to the lobby again and she seemed bothered about my concern but did move me to room 233 which as soon as I walked in you could hear the mice even louder in that one. At that point I checked out and left, I stay at a lot of hotels and this was by one of the top 5 worst I’ve been to
