A friend reserved it for us, called it "the landlord special" It was perfect for my girls, surrounded in pink and the red light spa mask and vagus nerve headphones were amazing, the pool was nice, they just opened up a restaurant next to the pool, there is a clothing rack of random items for sale in the loby and the staff is great here. 10/10
We stayed there June 14th and 15th. We were delighted at how clean the pool and hot tub were. We appreciated how much time and detail a staff member put in to ensuring the hot tub was meeting safety requirements. He made sure to clear out any small item that would float in the pool. It was the cleanest pool we have ever seen. We were very grateful for the time and consideration that was put into making the pool and hot tub a safe and enjoyable experience.

This was a very last- minute trip to Colorado. We chose the hotel specifically for location and had no idea that the renovation was a labor of love painted pink. More of the happy tasteful Elle Woods/Legally Blonde pink, not Barbie pink - maybe you get the idea.
In any case, the spa updates were nearly finished when we arrived after a drive from Golden to Nederland to Estes Park and on in to Ft. Collins. The pool was perfectly appointed with fun beachballs, comfy lounge furniture in tasteful pink stripes, and huge fluffy towels.
This place is clean, clean, clean even with some construction taking place.
The rooms made me feel like I had stepped back in time to the 1950’s. Reminded me very much of a hotel my grandfather had owned in Venice, FL that catered to a nostalgic traveler.
You can’t beat the proximity to downtown for the price. I know, I tried.
We spent a great night with our adult kids who live downtown and were able to retire to our comfort bed, thick sheets, perfect-weight blanket, and awesome pillows.
Note: I generally clean a room immediately upon arrival, but my cleaning wipes came up, well, clean. Nothing to see, no dirt, no yucky surprises. Just clean.
I hope you have a great stay at the newly renovated Buxton. If you need to contact the front desk for more fluffy towels, just pick up the pink phone and tell them what you need!

We ended up here by chance, myself and three teens were driving by and stopped in. Immediately they took to the pool, which is spotless. This place is like Ace meets Lux, with that desirable location. We happened to be here during a promotional event with food and live music, which I hope they repeat. The ladies are very welcoming, clear communication, good price and the vintage-y lux details are what pop. Think Rose Gold. :) Kudos to the contractor and crews eye for detail. The fixtures, bathroom mirror without good lighting ;), tile, not an insert, really comfortable bed and pillows with bed mist, earplugs and extra pillows. I wish there was lil mini fridge, but the office does provide ice, we have a cooler. Extremely great condition, so clean and fresh, no weird smell. Cleaning crew is friendly and seem to love their job. You can walk to everything in town. There is a safe little green yard area tucked back. Coffee is not bitter. Sometimes you want to sit and watch and, yes, there is street seating out front. Plenty of parking and seems safe and tucked back for my vehicle. For our first time in Colorado and traveling as a single mom I highly recommend this place. I had to work and the wifi signal is strong and reaches to our room and the pool. Vibe check, yes, the kids got their cool pictures. Come support these ladies and this amazing contribution to FoCo and spread the word. So charming!
This hotel is undergoing renovation and has been renamed the Buxton. I made a reservation in March, for a stay in early June. At no point was this information communicated to me in any way.
The room that we were assigned was 2 doors down from active construction. We had been out late on Friday night and were awakened by the sounds of large item being dropped into a dumpster (among other construction noise) at 8:00 AM on a Saturday.
The room was small, but clean, with a street-facing window that was about 10 feet away from public sidewalk. The Window had no sheer curtains so we were left with the choice of having a dark room or having anyone who walked by being able to see directly into the room. There was really no place for 2 people to sit other than the bed. The shower had no grab bar, which seems like a safety issue. If not for their cancellation policy, I would have walked away.
When I made the reservation, the website indicated that this hotel had a complimentary continental breakfast, The current website indicates that there is a "grab and go"breakfast available. I saw no sign of either. There was coffee available in the lobby, but no cream was available when I stopped by to get a cup.
To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. For approximately $325.00 per night (including taxes) my expectations did not even begin to be met. This experience has soured my on the Best Western brand altogether. Given the option, I will always be choosing another hotel, and encouraging others to do the same.
