It was a fairly pleasant stay overall. The room was clean and comfortable, but we let the front desk staff know on our first night that the mini refrigerator was making clanging noises and likely its compressor was dying and either that or the entire unit needed to be replaced. We were leaving for dinner at the time and we told them to feel free to enter our room. When we came back, it was not clear whether they had ever come by. The fridge was still making noise and it was late, so we let it go.
I had received a text message from Best Western at some point that said I could reply if I needed anything. I replied on that message that first night to let them know the fridge was still making noise, and we could deal with it in the morning. No one ever answered me or said anything about it.
It's clear that the hotel is understaffed at night also. We called one night around 8 or 9pm to ask for a toilet plunger as it got clogged. We waited for 45 minutes and no one came, so we called the desk again to see what was happening, or if we needed to go down and get the plunger. The guy who answered the phone the second time answered by saying, impatiently, "Yes, yes, coming!" before I had a chance to say anything. We understood he was busy, but there are a lot of people there to only have one person overnight.
In general, everyone was friendly and we were mostly happy with our stay, except that we paid surge/holiday pricing that was significantly higher over the weekend without any real benefit. The coffee machine was empty one of the times we came down to grab a cup, there were no healthy snacks for purchase in the lobby, low water pressure in the shower, no ice machine on our floor, and the water machine in the fitness center was out of water the one time we came down to fill up.
The location is great. It's in Little Italy and in close proximity to a lot of nice restaurants, the bay/beach, public transportation and shopping.
Again, we feel that we got what we paid for given this is a cheaper hotel, but the stay could have been better in a few ways.

OK THE Rooms were Nice and The View Of the Bayside were Breath taking Super Clean and Comfortable Stay! FREE COFFEE AND CAPACHINOS..little Italy is walking distance to Amazing Restraunts and Cocktail spots. Our 2nd Stay here now and We Will Return again Soon!!
I very much enjoyed my stay here - the rooms are incredibly relaxing for being downtown. The location is also unbeatable - I walked to the Padres game, Seaport Village, and the Coronado Ferry. It was even super easy to walk to the 992 bus to return to the airport. The price is also great for the quality you get at this location, and for all of the access around town.
My stay at Best Western Plus Bayside Inn was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything needed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring San Diego.
The location is excellent—close to downtown, the waterfront, restaurants, and many of San Diego’s top attractions.
What really stood out was the exceptional customer service & hotel’s communication regarding the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. They kept guests well informed with notifications , directions & updates, which made navigating entry and exit routes seamless and stress-free. Their proactive communication and attention to detail were greatly appreciated and helped make the overall stay even more enjoyable. Everyone we encountered made us feel welcome and valued as guests. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego. A truly great experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent place to stay for the Rock n Roll Marathon. Just 2 blocks down from the finish line and a 1.6 mile walk to the start. Great rooms and service staff. Right at the edge of Little Italy.
