  After enjoying this hotel last year, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, the building was under renovation, and the construction noise made sleeping impossible. The elevator lobby was filled with dangerous weights used for elevator testing that could have crushed a child. When I complained, the manager beligerently insisted that he walked by our room and was not bothered by the noise. He had no explanation for the dangerous weights. There was no warning about the construction when I made my reservation, and the manager had only arguments to give me rather than apologies for ruining my vacation. We will never return.

  A very nice, well maintained and clean hotel. Easily access. Right next to I-5. Close to many fast food chains just across the highway. Easy to navigate. It even has a small golf course. The personnel were very friendly. Rooms are very roomy and have all the essentials. The only thing that we wished it had was a breakfast hour, but good thing chic-fil-a was just around the corner. We sure will be planning another stay there in the future.

  They got this awesome coffee machine in the lobby area with built in expresso services all day long and the best thing is self serve you can keep getting as much hot drinks as you want !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  I am the kind of person that is willing to sacrifice specific levels of comfort in order to pay the cheapest price possible for a hotel. I was traveling with my spouse and our two dogs and we were looking to stay in a Motel 6 because we know it’s cheap and they’re dog friendly. After looking through the reviews of those locations in San Diego, I was a bit concerned about the amount of comfort sacrifice that we would need to make in order to stay there. This Best Western was priced just slightly higher than Motel 6, with much better reviews. I had zero expectations of this hotel and was blown away walking into the lobby. This is an absolutely beautifully designed and maintained hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The location was central to everything we wanted to do and they do not charge a parking fee. The hot tub was well maintained and a nice touch after a long day of walking. The water pressure in the shower is perfect. The fitness center offered quite a bit of equipment. My FAVORITE thing about this hotel, which may seem silly, is that they have a filtered water refill station for all guests to use. I have never experienced this in a hotel before, and it was an absolute game changer and helped us avoid having to buy gallons of water for drinking. We were able to fill up all of our bottles, and a jug, each day and had plenty of water with us all day long in San Diego as we were traveling and hitting the beach. I will absolutely be staying here again.
