I had an extremely disappointing experience with Sixt Rent a Car. I made my reservation through a third-party company and had already prepaid for the vehicle. Unfortunately, due to travel delays, my flight was delayed and I knew I would not make it to pick up the car at the original reservation time. I attempted to contact Sixt customer service to explain the situation and see if there were any options available. First, it was incredibly difficult to even reach a live representative because I kept getting stuck dealing with bots. Once I finally spoke to a representative, the customer service was rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. I simply asked for the direct number to the pickup desk at the rental location so I could communicate with them directly, and they refused to provide it. There was no effort to work with me, despite the circumstances being outside of my control. To make matters worse, I ended up losing the money I prepaid for a service I never received. They were unwilling to offer even a partial refund, voucher, or any form of accommodation. The lack of empathy, poor communication, and unwillingness to assist customers during travel disruptions was extremely frustrating. I would strongly caution others before booking with this company.

Quick, easy, and clean. I like that this location is actually in the airport - there’s nothing worse than having to wait for a shuttle after getting off a plane. The car was as promised. Excellent value for a luxury vehicle. Staff was friendly, professional, and knew their stuff. I wish all rental experiences were this nice.

My rental experience was so poor it caused me to write my first ever Google review. I had a long term rental (2.5 months for work) and about a month in, I was notified that my car required maintenance and had to be exchanged. Not a huge deal, inconvenient for sure though. They probably shouldn't have rented a car that was due for maintenance within my rental window, but it is what it is. I make the 70 minute drive back to Tucson, exchange the vehicle, and drive back down to Sierra Vista (work location). Nearly 3 hours in total. Not even 5 days after I exchanged the vehicle, I'm told that my current vehicle also required maintenance and I would have to come back to exchange it. Now I'm pissed. It was already inconvenient being rented a vehicle that needed work done, but now it has happened twice, and I find it hard to believe that you couldn't see the maintenance schedule when you rented me the second vehicle. It's a long drive round trip and now you're making me do it twice. I get up to Tucson to return the vehicle and as I'm in the garage, the employee Fidel tells me the vehicle was supposed to be returned 3 weeks ago. I told him obviously that's not true because I've only had it for about a week. He mentioned that the rest of my rental agreement would probably be canceled and I wouldn't be allowed to rent with them anymore since the vehicle was so overdue. I asked to speak to a manager because I was ticked off at the situation, but Fidel told me they had gone home for the day. I decided to go inside and figure out the problems with my rental agreement. The employee Sarah is the only reason you have 2 stars on this review. She was understanding about the situation and helped quite a bit despite being relatively new. She was limited in what she could do, but assured me the rental period would not be affected because of their error. She contacted the manager Justin, who was able to assist remotely. I got my 3rd rental car and was on my way. Justin was allegedly going to contact me when he got in the next day to discuss the issue, but he never reached out. Overall, the experience was very frustrating and I felt like there was little help from Sixt support despite communicating with them multiple times. Unfortunately it bothered me enough to where I won't rent from them again. Hopefully this branch fixes their communication and maintenance tracker issues.

I had a deeply frustrating experience with SIXT Rent A Car that raises serious concerns about how they handle post-rental damage claims. Months after my rental, I was hit with a damage claim totaling over $500, including vague line items like “administrative fees” and “appraisal fees,” with little to no supporting documentation. There was no clear, itemized repair invoice, no transparent explanation of how these costs were calculated, and no convincing evidence directly tying the alleged damage to my rental period. What’s worse is how quickly this was escalated to a third-party collector, Summit A*R, Inc., before any meaningful attempt was made to substantiate the claim or resolve the dispute. Instead of working through the issue, the process immediately shifted toward pressure and collection tactics. This experience feels less like a legitimate damage recovery process and more like a system designed to push questionable charges onto customers and rely on intimidation or inconvenience to secure payment. If you rent from SIXT, document everything thoroughly—photos, videos, and condition reports—because if a dispute arises, you may find yourself fighting an uphill battle to get clear answers. I strongly recommend exercising caution and considering alternative rental companies that prioritize transparency and fair customer treatment. Also, this company just settled a nearly 12 million dollar lawsuit for, you guessed it, fraudulent repair charges. Go with another company. This company is predatory and shady.

Christian, the Sixt employee who helped check me in, was kind and helpful. He explained everything very well and even upgraded my vehicle. He was a wonderful person to interact with after a long flight. My vehicle was nice, a Hyundai Sonata with a nice and newer trim. My only complaint is that the seats were extremely dirty. There was even a shoe print on the passenger’s seat. All 4 seats looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed or cleaned with how dirty they were. The car garage was dark, so I didn’t notice until after I had left the facility, otherwise I would’ve requested a new vehicle. The car also had a decent amount of paint damage around the car, which was noted in the file through the app. However, the dirty seats were disappointing.
