Best choice & experience mo/hotel stay!
A huge relief after depressing, ghetto-worthy, unsafe-feeling Mojave, CA & Needles, CA. Both now full of broken signs, closed, barred & boarded-up homes, shops, restaurants, businesses.
Like a beautiful oasis in contrast, this inn welcomed us w friendly, helpful, caring staff in every dept. Ground floor rooms provided convenient parking at room door.
Room was very clean & well-appointed. Beds were comfortable. AC was temp-controlled. Shower w good water pressure & shower head.
Great entertainment TV & WiFi. Included a delicious breakfast 6-9:30: A bounty of many choices of warm, perfectly cooked & seasoned food (even the scrambled eggs!) all of which was constantly refreshed -generously- to the very end. Seating was ample & comfortable. Staff was present, hard-working, & attentive to detail & guests.
Potential improvements: Pls add handheld shower for bathing our children & nether regions. Replace old system hot light timer fan with fans that work continuously to dry/freshen bathroom.

This hotel was the first stop of our family trip during the winter break in December 2025. At first glance, the room didn’t seem to have any issues. However, in the middle of the night, my husband started feeling itchy all over, and then his arms became red and swollen. Initially, I thought it was a food allergy, but later we found a bed bug in his pajamas. I immediately woke up our two kids and checked everything carefully. We found two live bed bugs and even some dead ones on the floor.
My husband went to the front desk right away. They calmly switched us to another room—guess what? We still found bed bugs. We were moved to yet another room, and there were still bed bugs. By the time this whole process was over, it was already around 3 or 4 a.m. We decided to check out immediately. The front desk agreed without hesitation and waived the room charge, which unfortunately meant I couldn’t leave a review on Booking afterward.
After this experience, my kids started calling it “Worst Western” and told me never to book this hotel brand again.
I am extremely disappointed with our recent stay at this best western. The front desk staff needs serious improvement in how they handle customer service, especially when it comes to something as straightforward as a military discount.
I presented my disabled husband’s ID card, which should have been sufficient. Instead of handling the situation respectfully, the front desk refused to accept it and made me bring my disabled husband in personally to verify his identity. This was unnecessary, frustrating, and frankly embarrassing. We have never experienced anything like this before.
As elite members, we are typically granted early check-in as a perk, but that was not honored either. The staff member at the front desk contacted housekeeping and told us the room was not ready, so we were asked to wait until 3 PM. We ended up waiting outside near the pet-friendly rooms, watching for any sign that our room was being cleaned. When we returned at 3 PM, we were told the room was now ready, yet it was obvious it had already been cleaned earlier. This felt dishonest and poorly managed.
To make matters worse, when we requested a receipt for our stay, we were told they do not provide receipts, which is completely unacceptable and something we have never encountered before.
Overall, the experience was marked by poor communication, lack of professionalism, and an unfriendly attitude from staff. Because of this experience, we will not be returning and are seriously reconsidering our loyalty moving forward.
EDIT: Carey,
You already addressed this situation and made it clear via email that if my disabled veteran husband could not physically come into the lobby, we should not be allowed to use his military discount. You also have record of the exact date and time of our check-in.
For reference, the front desk employee involved was Hannah, whose behavior came across as rude and dismissive.
