  I have rented a car via Expedia to be collected at Nis Airport on 31st of July at 6pm. When I arrived, I called ahead of pickup to ensure everything was ready and was advised that I need to pay 45 euros as pick up time was after 2pm. Nikola, who I spoke to, said that their hours of operation were 9am to 2pm during the week and due to pick up and drop off both being 6pm, I would need to pay additional 45 Euros at pick up and 45 euros at drop off. I wrote an email to Sixt in Serbia as there was no way for me to contact them over the phone (their sales staff advised me of this whenI called their number). In my email I explained that my booking confirmation states their hours of operation 8am - 8pm. On their office door at Nis Airport it states that their hours of operation is 8am - 8pm/10pm/midnight depending on a day (this can easily be checked and I have a photo). They replied advising that someone would call me but 45 euros may not be waived. Nikola did not call so I called his number, with no answer. Nikola just decided to avoid me so I have no other option but wait till 9am following day. I have had to pick up following day at 9am and drop off 5 hours earlier at the end of the rental. This is not on and just goes to show that "cowboy" behaviour still persists in Serbia even when dealing with what is suppose to be a serious car rental business. When returning the vehicle I checked with an adjacent car rental company and they said that they don't charge for pick up/drop off after 2pm and before reasonable evening time (up to midnight). I am pretty sure that this was against the local law and that Serbian trading standards would fine Sixt for this. I frequently travel and will not be using Sixt even when in Europe or North America. Nikola and his colleagues at Sixt have not acted professionally and have represented Sixt as a cowboy outfit. #sixtneveragain

  I had a great experience with this car rental company. The car was automatic and in excellent condition. The rental process was handled very quickly and efficiently by the agent. The cooperation was pleasant, and the customer service was friendly and professional. I am very satisfied with the overall experience and would highly recommend them - Sixt Airport Nis
