  I'm currently going through the nightmare that all other reviewers have described. They are scammers and crooks, plain and simple. Save yourself the trouble.

  Warning / Review Rented car during work trip, nice new volvo. Took photos of 2 scratches/damages that was not marked in their papers in the wet rain on arrival figured this would be plenty in case something happened. Oh and one extra picture that fuel was not filled up. No-one was there when I delivered the car, Two days after they come back with picture that looks like tiny white scratch on the same door I already took picture of bigger damage on. I tried to call them to understand what this was about. Company policy is that they do not answer phone only mail, yes really ! Their response to emails took several weeks and answered about half the questions i asked. Ignoring my pictures showing they had not checked the car from previous hires. Cost NOK 12 590 to polish out the white scratches on the same door that already had damage. I asked if I can get proof they actually will fix it, NO because it is only cosmetic and they will do it when they have the time. (also after 3 other people have paid the same I suspect.. ) I also asked if they have some way of complaining on these things answer is NO you can try forbrukerombudet but we always do like this. I did get a sorry for the not filed tank of gas and I must understand difficult for the professional part to check thoroughly every time 😃 At least this was my last rental with them good luck to the next.   My partner had a terrible experience with this car rental - the staff there are unprofessional, don't care for customers, and just want your money.

  AVOID - I had a flight cancellation, so whole trip needed to be called off. Called them and the guy said 'don't cancel via the website as they will charge you a cancellation fee & send us a email and we will get you a full refund". I did this, called him after - he said he was busy but it was received, later that day I called again and he said "I'm still busy - it doesn't matter if I get your refund sorted tomorrow". I called customer service as this was still before I was due to pick up - they were useless, called two times said two different things - they could cancel it for me but at the same cost as the rental! I said what the person at this branch said, and they went and spoke to their supervisor and said "Oh yeah, do what they said and deal with them direct but allow them 24 - 48 hours to get back to your email" It is now over 48 hours - I called this office again (I incur addional costs calling Norway from the UK!) - this time get another guy that says "ah there is nothing we can do - you have to claim your money back from the airline not us..." Awful - have used SIXT before, but after this NEVER again. The way this branch handled my concerns and queries was disgusting - I am due to be going to Norway a few times a year for a few years - well done for losing my custom for only a 2 day car rental.

  I highly recommend that anyone who reads this never purchases, rents, or conducts any business with Sixt. They are a fraudulent company and will attempt to scam you for thousands of dollars. I went on a trip recently, and have been hit with excessive damage costs months after my rental. They have sent me images with scratch marks less than the size of a penny and have charged me an additional $1000+. Upon looking into this online, I have found that Sixt will do this to every single person who rents their cars. I have advised all of my friends and family traveling to Europe to stay away from this company at all costs and advise you the same. It is disappointing companies of this nature are still in business.
