I had a very disappointing experience with SIXT in Norway.
I rented a car for just one day, and after signing the rental agreement, I asked the employee if I could return it at Harstad/Narvik Airport instead of the original location. His answer was simply, "No problem." There was no mention of any additional charge, no updated price, and nothing to sign or approve.
A few days later, I discovered I had been charged a 5500 NOK one-way fee—more than three times the rental price itself. If I had been told about this fee, I would have returned the car to the original location without hesitation.
A charge this significant should never come as a surprise. Customers deserve clear and transparent information before making a decision, especially when they explicitly ask about changing the return location.
I hope SIXT investigates this case and improves how these situations are handled in the future.
