Die Autobahnkapelle ist eine ehemalige Tankstelle aus dem Jahr 1947; das Gebäude ist denkmalgeschützt. Mit dem korrespondierenden Bau auf der gegenüberliegenden Fahrbahnseite ergibt sich ein Ensemble, dass auch "Tor nach Westfalen" genannt wird.
Die Kapelle ist über einen eigenen Fußweg vom Rasthof aus zu erreichen. Zusätzlich stehen einige Pkw-Parkplätze direkt an der Kapelle zur Verfügung. Busse und Lkw benutzen die Parkplätze der Rastanlage.
Fußgänger und Radfahrer erreichen die Autobahnkapelle von Hamm-Rhynern aus.
