Die DMT ist seit über 30 Jahren im Bezirk Horgen tätig. Dieter Meyer hat sich 1981 selbständig gemacht und bezog sein erstes Büro in Kilchberg. Danach folgten Domizilwechsel nach Zürich und später nach Thalwil. 1995 wurde die Einzelfirma in die DMT D. Meyer Treuhand GmbH umgewandelt. Im Jahr 2000 kam die DMT Treuhand AG dazu.
Dieter Meyer wird seit vielen Jahren tatkräftig von der langjährigen Mitarbeiterin, Frau Ursula Betschart unterstützt und seit 2014 ist sein Sohn, Andreas Meyer, dazu gestossen. Im selben Jahr ging die DMT wieder zu ihren Wurzeln nach Kilchberg, zurück.
Ab 2021 hat Andreas Meyer die Geschäftsführung übernommen.
Im 2023 kamen zwei neue Gesichter, Arlinda Bajrami und Slawomir Jezewski hinzu und Frau Betschart ging in den wohlverdienten Ruhestand.
